No, it isn't, it is just my opinion.
Take music as an example, performer X can be widely regarded as a musical genius but if their "sound" just doesn't resonate with you should you be forced to not only listen to it but spout off about how much you love it? I couldn't care less how masterful the chord progressions are or the tempo changes were implemented if I simply no not enjoy the "sound".
Again, notice how I didn't single out anyone who likes this game and attack them? As a matter of fact I have acknowledged them and wished them happiness playing the game. I on the other hand simply registered my opinion, granted with a little snark or comedy and boom, here come the attacks.
Truly amazing how mad some of you are that I don't like this game and crapped on the graphics a little. Maybe y'all are the adolescent, keyboard warriors in mom's basement?
Ehn, I think it's still a bad take. And not because you can't have an opinion, but because you haven't even played the game. This isn't the same as the music not being for you--you have to at least LISTEN to the music to decide that. You haven't played the game, all you've seen is a couple screenshots.
And look, I appreciate that you like a certain graphical style. I've been a triple-A game dev for my whole career. My livelihood is predicated on people loving amazing, shiny graphics and big-budget games.
Now, that said, I don't think you're a bad person, I just don't think it's a good take. (Not the WORST take, just not a good one.)
Also, it's NOT a game for everyone. I've put a bunch of hours into it, but I haven't uncovered every secret, farmed every animal, grown every crop. I do happen to like the graphics (frankly, you're underselling them a lot; it's a blocky, pixelated game, but there's a lot of detail in there) because I grew up in the NES/SNES era (actually, the Atari and Colecovision era if you get down to it) but that doesn't immediately make it a good game, either.
Also, I'd love LSL to come back. All those point and click games had their own charm. They didn't have much to work with, but they still managed to do a lot with it anyway. They had so many more constraints, it's a miracle anything was fun. But they were! Some of those dumb old games were SO fun.
Anyway, tl;dr--a game is more than its graphics, and you certainly don't have to like them, but your take was unnecessarily denigrating in my opinion. But also, some people need to chill out. I don't think it was a good take, but they're acting like you kicked a puppy or something.
