Like what NBC had done for BSG, MGM is thinking that they can release SGU on DVD/BR half-seasons at a time, thus costing a lot more than purchasing an entire season of other programs.

Anyone order the first half of season 1?

I never bought a single BSG disk until I got the entire series on BRD (19 disk) for less than $200. I won't buy half seasons of anything.

i have the whole season so far in 720p, its not very action packed yet but still interesting to watch. i think they are setting it up for season 2, and will make that interesting.

where is the latest episode (ep 11 i think). its taking ages to come out!

^^^^ Gateworld says that the second half of the season starts April 2nd.

It's supposed to take a slight turn from the way it's going. I hope they get rid of the whole "who's sleeping with who" bit...

I finally got around to watching the last two episodes. This series is really pretty boring. I would not be surprised if it doesn't reappear for the new episodes in spring. Even the cliffhanger is dull.

Stargate Universe Fans? (2010)

Just wondering if there are any Stargate Universe fans on here.
There's an American Idol thread - I figure there has to be at least one!

Yeah, I've been watching it.

It's finally starting to get a little better. The show is going to get old unless they start figuring out how to use the ship and get out of that constant jump to hyperspace mode.

I was a little surprised to see the good Dr. back so fast after being left on the planet.

I agree.
The first few episodes I pretty much wrote it off. But the last two were pretty decent.
The whole military vs. civilians conflict is interesting. Having worked in a military & civilian environment the conflict is real.

I think they should have left Rush out in space for a while longer.
and they need to start allowing nudity on TV... Lt. James needs to be topless at least once; with an AR-15.

I haven't seen any of the new episodes, just haven't had time to watch them. But I do like the show.

I download them due to a hectic schedule and watch a bunch all at once.
Yay for Matroska!

While I do agree with you on the nudity, I wish they would decide which way to go. I actually had to kick out my 10 YO during a couple of the scenes. It seems to have calmed down a bit now.

I'm enjoying the show. It's finally starting to get interesting. I think they brought Rush back too soon also. They should have given junior (can't remember his name) time to get up to speed on the technical parts of the ship so he could be a true rival and not a lackey to Rush. We'll see....

so - its been a week since ep13 came out, honestly - it was WELL worth the wait!

ep11,12 & 13 have been incredible! i have really enjoyed them. very actioned packed.

thoughts?

Now that they're actually meeting new aliens and doing more what we're used to in the other SG's it's getting better. Last year totally sucked. I also notice they haven't been going to Earth, which is good.

yea def, going back to earth was so boring - saying goodbye etc.. ugh.

when the civilians took over - ugh i wanted to kill them all!

downloading the new (ep14) now!!! :D

The show is moving at an odd pace, I guess its looking to find the right pace, but hasn't found it yet.

A couple of dangling plot lines. They searched the ship the last time they came out of FTL? and searched/fixed unused parts of the ship, but nothing really came of it.

This episode, no mention of continuing the search, but suddenly they built a buffer (MacGyver?) and Rush jumped into the chair. At least they are moving the plot somewhat forward...

I like the show, but I'm not sure how long its going to stick around... I hate to get involved in yet another show that lasts 2 seasons.

i have episode 14 - just waiting to get home so i can watch it. it does seem to be moving wierdly, this stargate is odd because there is an actual moving plot. i kind of prefer the older one where everything was setup and they just go to other worlds.

i do like this stargate though, some of the CGI is really good! the action scenes are getting better and the stories are very good IMO.

The episode "Human" - the parts with Daniel Jackson were sort of lame (and, of course, reminded me of the new BG).

The scenes with Cloe and the alternative music are starting to annoy me...

The scenes, of course, on the planet with the ruins were cool...
