Starlight a sleeper hit?

I pre ordered the starlight and then on launch day when I saw some unboxing videos, I thought nope too much like silver for my liking so I went and picked up the midnight from the store. My starlight was delivered a couple of days ago and I thought may as well set it up and see what I think. Well, I love it and now I have a dilemma as I also love the midnight. But I think starlight is the keeper!
wish it was more saturated gold but yeah def better than midnight considering midnight looks really ugly with fingerprints. without fingerprints midnight looks the best, but it will never look that pristine in normal use, so it doesn't matter
It's the one I'd go for if I was going to get one.
I think its a way of getting something different from the one true aluminium without either dealing with massive amounts of fingerprint residue being visible, or having no taste.

the problem is under a lot of every day lighting, it looks too much like a silver laptop. but I agree, under the right lighting its perfect
I went to a mall to check the different colors and they only have 1 M2 Air midnight, and the fingerprints problem is terrible for me, as soon as I touched it it got my prints on it, so for me it's a no go.
I wanna see in person the starlight first, before ordering it, but i think it's the best color for me. I come from a 2013 MBA silver color and I want a change.

Looks nice but at first glance I thought OP was posting to complain that its display arrived broken.
It's only a hit cause it's the only choice unless you want 10 shades of silver or fingerprint blue.
It actually is my favorite. I like the friendly look of it.
Looks better on the MBA than it does on the Apple Watch. Probably because as a MBA it can stand on its own, I found Starlight on the AW "clashes" with my favorite bands.
Really excited for my starlight 10/16/512 to arrive. Midnight looks neat, but I’m just tired of dark & neutral colors. I would have loved the purple from the M1 iMac line, but given these four choices, starlight was an easy call.
I think part of why it looks so good on the MBA vs smaller devices is the broad uninterrupted surface area that can really catch the light.

Looking at your pic, I just realized that Apple missed a trick 😅
They could have had the black swoop in that default wallpaper line up with the notch to disguise it 😂😅

I'm very happy with my Starlight! It's just enough different from silver to be less boring, but not so gold as to seem gaudy. I also like the contrast between the case color and the keyboard. The only thing I would have liked better was a purple to match my iPad mini.

Some people dont like how subtle it is, whereas thats what I love about it. At times it had me second guessing if it was actually starlight or a silver.

Can't wait for mine to arrive. Starlight was my first choice after 6 years on a silver Macbook it was time for a (ever so slight) change! 😁
Would love to see one in the store - all I've been able to see is Midnight and I agree about the fingerprints. This would be a machine for my wife and while she doesn't think she'd like Starlight, she agrees that seeing one in person might change her mind. I certainly think it's cool from the pics, but it's also not my turn for a new machine.
I was positively surprised at starlight when I saw them all in an Apple Store recently. It really does look great, just the right amount of… non-silver to look different.
With how close it is to silver, it should also help with the visibility of inevitable scratches and dings that are very visible on rose gold, space gray and likely midnight.

they might in a future generation Air, but who knows if starlight will remain.
Could also wait on an 8/512 refurb.

One thing I considered is, in the iPhone and Apple Watch lineups, Starlight replaced silver (with Midnight replacing Space Grey). So if I want devices that match in the next year or two, Starlight and Midnight are the ways to go. But Midnight fingerprints are just too much for me.
