Yup. I am starting to rethink my Apple or Samsung foldable decision next year. I upgraded from an S7 to an S10 Apple Watch because I was having so many difficulties with the S7. The S10 being flatter, bigger, & faster, especially with Siri right on the watch & not in the cloud, is finally the Apple Watch that is a perfect fit for me.

Considering I leave my 13 Mini home half the time, I think I am going to replace the battery for the 2nd time on the 13 Mini next Fall. I can then wait 2 more years before upgrading my phone & considering the trade in values Samsung is giving for Apple hardware if I do decide to switch teams, it will be like I paid nothing for the S10 getting such a steep discount when I bought.

I do not feel the same way.

I prefer iOS over Android. In order to use iOS, that means I have to get an iPhone. Because Apple is not licensing iOS to run on Android.

For the first time, with iOS 26, Apple is starting to approach the look and feel of how I had things on my jailbroken phones up until 2020. It may be an unpopular opinion, but I like iOS 26. Like any other version of iOS it's got it's issues and there are still things to improve. But, this isn't iOS 7 anymore.

I will continue to spend for the iDevices I want. Note, my current primary device is the 11 Pro Max, which is doing fantastic on iOS 26.

You mean “….Apple is not licensing iOS to run on non-Apple hardware…” not “run on Android”.

I had a 14 Pro and it was working fine. Battery was down to ~70% each night. I gave it to my wife and got a 17 Pro Max. I’m loving the 17PM. Still finding out new things to love about it.

After spending the weekend with a perfectly crafted 17 Pro Max (no screen issues or scratches/dents out of the box) I feel like iPhones may actually be MORE worth it than ever.

There's a way to do it right now, and I have done it in the past when I was using my Pixel as my primary phone. But it involves dedicating a Mac as a go-between.

Thanks! I was not aware of such thing. I find WhatsApp quite institutive for texting (typing, with a fast spell corrector too). I assume that WhatsApp has a video feature similar to FaceTime, but other than texting voice messaging, and international calls from iOS to Android and vice versa, so far I haven't tried it.
