Not really. I did see one on an older lady at Sam's a week or so ago.... I thought that was really cool!

I've actually seen a few people around my university with Apple Watches which was interesting to see. However I mostly see people with an AW on TV or when I'm out and near an Apple Store :p

Saw an older lady (RN or LVN) when I went in to get a biometric screening for reduced health insurance premiums at work.

Surprised me when she slid her jacket sleeve back to check the time. It was a rose pink watch and I liked the way she had her watch face setup. Very tasteful.

I see quite many in the wild nowadays, which is great, because it makes my Moto 360 looks more unique. :)

I am too, far more of the round variety. I actually find them more attractive in general than the Watch with a blank screen for some reason. Probably because they look more like a watch, even though there's no visible face.

I never see them at the gym. I also don't see many other fitness bands either. I do see fitness bands on almost every other person at work. Interestingly those are not typically people who spend a lot of time at the gym. I think in general, maybe people who are regular gym members are less concerned about tracking their fitness in the way the watch provides. I know I don't need a watch for that purpose.

Yeah, I actually don't use the fitness aspect at all, either.

Being an owner of several Swiss watches, I feel the opposite about round smartwatches. I think they're a bit too uncanny valley looking (if it were possible to apply that to watches, rather than people,) or maybe it's that they're trying too hard to look like a "nice" watch, as in the department store variety. The Apple Watch looks best with the screen off, IMO.

In regards to seeing them, I still see them all the time in Portland and LA. When I was in Hawaii recently, I was surprised how many resort and waterpark workers were wearing smartwatches, and a lot of them were Apple. It must be a way for them to skirt rules about using a cell phone on the job, I'd guess.

The watch is junk when I see those who have them they literally never do anything with them except see who's calling them. Amazing people waste money on such a bad product.

Check the time, see who's calling/texting and sometimes responding. That's essentially the whole point, and I find it very useful.

These comments made me chuckle. Here are some points to consider about us "older ladies":

1) Hard work and prudent savings have gotten us to a point in our lives where we have more disposable income to spend on toys for ourselves.

2) The desire to learn new things and follow new trends doesn't diminish with age.

3) We have been using (and in some cases programming) computers since before you were born.

Thank you Apple for a product that gives us a chance to look "really cool" and at the same time "very tasteful"!

I didn't mean to be offensive :( it's just I expect to see people in their 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's with apple products... especially the watch... but when you get into the 70's I don't see it as often but I find it really cool! heck... my mom just got an iphone FINALLY!! we convinced her to get a MacBook and ipad mini a few years ago... but she kept holding out on the iphone.... now I'm trying to convince her she needs a pretty pink apple watch to go with her pretty pink iphone 6s plus!

That's all very nice, I'm sure. I wasn't thinking anything other than "it's awesome that she has one; maybe the  Watch has is getting into mainstream." But I'm sure she thanks you for defending her.

I'm seeing them more while on the subway in NYC. It's easy to notice them on a crowded train with people standing and holding onto a pole/rail.

I love the fact that older people are into fashion. I'm 52 but my whole life has been technology. Started right when the first personal computer came out and punch cards were fading away.

I will be wearing smart watches and having iPhones until I die. :)

I see more and more but I am the type to observe or even look for them. All in all, I have probably seen 30-50 so far.

No offense taken. I was just offering another viewpoint. Good luck convincing your Mom.

My fiancée and I just returned from a cruise last week and we spotted a handful of people on the ship (excluding us) sporting Apple Watches. Coincidently, we noticed a lot of people wearing FitBit's.

I still don't see them as frequently in the area where we live, so seeing a decent amount of people on cruise ship was a welcomed surprise.

The lady at a table we sat across from at lunch today was wearing an Apple Watch. She was stylish dressed in jeans, a white tank top and rolled up sleeved plaid blouse with a white sport band on her wrist. Nice look. Couldn't help but notice. We live in a smaller town too.

It's getting to the point around here where the Apple Watch, although not the most popular style of watch, is becoming one of the most frequently-seen brands of watches.

I'll put it in the mix among Timex Ironman, G-Shock, Fossil Group (which includes a lot of fashion brands), Citizen, and Rolex when it comes to how many wrists wear the AW. If I were to run a tally during the day, these would populate the top of my list.

Six months ago, this wouldn't have been true at all. AW numbers were more comparable to Garmin or Suunto back then.

I just saw them in person for the first time. Holy ****! They are so small, well built and elegant compared with the Android Wear monstrosities that no one cares about.

They certainly do not look that good in pics.

I'm starting to see more too, almost always a sport model. I'm the anomaly with the SS/Link. I haven't seen even one other link in the wild.

Shockingly, one of the other managers in my company recently picked up an Apple Watch. I remember I was the very first person in my company to get the iPhone (the 3G model back in 09). Took a while before others saw the merit of choosing iPhone, but eventually they almost all came around. I suspect I'll see a similar (but not as extensive) outcome with the watch.

I was at Macy's tonight and the lady who checked me out had one on. I asked her how she liked it and her eyes lit up and she smiled and said, "I LOVE my Apple Watch". I asked because I have yet to buy one and I constantly check here to see what people are saying about them. I have seen several out in public and I always ask people if they like their watch and how long they have had it. Every response I have gotten is similar to the lady tonight. I haven't asked one person that I have run into wearing one that didn't say they LOVE the watch. As a matter of fact, the only place so far I have heard people complain about the watch is in these forums.

I was going to buy my wife and I each one several months ago but was never able to pull the trigger. At this point I will wait for the second version but am still very interested in them.

I've been seeing a ton more out in the wild too. On all ages and both genders. Not very many products that can cross those lines.

I too was at Macy's the other day. I used Apple Pay on my Watch to check out, and the older lady behind me and the cashier were both amazed. I think I sold her on it. :D

Same here. I see a lot of Sports, very rarely do I see SS. I've never seen a link band in public except my own, and mine is a knockoff lol.

That's really interesting info.

Anyone can render an opinion on a product, but there's nothing more credible than feedback from people who have owned/used it for a while. We all know that Apple products tend to "grow on people" more than any others.

I'm actually a little different in that while I'm a huge fan of the watch (enough so that I swapped my Sport for an SS and then 9 months later sprung for a genuine link bracelet), I avoid raving about it too much to people who ask. I tell people "While it's not for everyone, I personally really enjoy it and benefit from it. The biggest benefit is that my phone no longer nags me with buzzing alarms, reminders, and messages anymore. I can deal with them easily from my wrist. The watch makes my phone better. If you feel your iPhone is constantly nagging you, you might consider getting the watch." That way they can judge it on their own use-case.

I saw tons and tons of them at Disney World. In fact, I saw couples and entire families wearing them. I do see a lot of them out and about where I live too.
[doublepost=1460492857][/doublepost]I'm glad to have run across this thread. It seemed like the media was really beating up on the Apple Watch yesterday, and I just don't understand all the hate. Though I do seem to remember it being like this when the iPhone and iPad came out too. I know lots of people who own Apple Watches now, and I don't think any of them have said anything bad about it, other than the usual, "Well, the apps could be a little faster".

It was really getting me down yesterday--glad to see there are some fellow lovers of the device here. I have really enjoyed wearing mine for the last year.

What do you mean? What happened yesterday?
