Well, Bob Ross (The Joy of Painting) died way back in 1995, and they still show his show on PBS... so I'd say that Animal Planet will probably continue to air Steve Irwin's shows... and they'll probably use them as the basis for some sort of pro-environmental awareness campaign.KingYaba said:So what do we do now? Will Animal Planet continue to play his shows? I haven't watched the Croc Files or whatever it was called in about two years. This news makes me want to watch and I feel rather sad that there will be no more "crikey!" shows to come.
Seeing as how the footage was seized by the police, I rather doubt it's out there... but if it is, I'd encourage people not to watch it. It would be like watching a snuff film.eMac4ever said:Apparently the video of him being killed is on the net? I haven't seen it. It's not on YouTube.com, but it might be on P2P networks though. IMO I think it's kind of disrespectful to him.
I agree - I really doubt it's on the internet, but if it was, I would never watch it.clayj said:Seeing as how the footage was seized by the police, I rather doubt it's out there... but if it is, I'd encourage people not to watch it. It would be like watching a snuff film.

OK, I did get the network wrong, but still...Irwin was propelled to global fame after his TV shows, in which he regularly wrestled with crocodiles and went face-to-face with poisonous snakes and other wild animals, were shown around world on the Discovery Channel.
The network announced plans for a marathon screening of Irwin’s work and a wildlife fund in his name.
“Rarely has the world embraced an animal enthusiast and conservationist as they did Steve Irwin,” Discovery Networks International President Dawn McCall said in a statement.

However there was talk from his friend (i think) that it may be aired on tv at a later date as it is "what Steve would of wanted". This comes from a BBC radio interview snippet.
If you ask me its not the right thing to do but I am strangely curious as I think a lot of other people are.
Still sad though![]()

I'm not saying it isn't alright to praise the name of someone who died, nor am I trying to be a cold-hearted bastard, but just pointing out the fact that everybody dies. Nothing new.
Though it is nice that he passed while doing what he loved. You couldn't ask for much more.![]()
