an effort that saw Apple making forays into printers and other peripherals

And how sad that Apple no longer does. My Laserwriter 16/600 still sees daily service, and I am not alone in thinking it an incredibly reliable machine.

Still no Willy Wonka but better than nothing. These videos only show how passionate Jobs was about the line of work he was in.

What I find strange is that Apple gives way more screen time to IBM than to their own products. Maybe that's where this type of ad campaign got derailed: the viewer remembered the competitor. Apple should have spent more time showing why Mac was so much better than IBM.

Speaking as someone who works in this part of the video-production industry: You all have no idea.

Thanks to the internet there are now many of these things leaking out, but there are still a ton that stay hidden. I'm betting every CEO in America has something more awkward than this hidden away somewhere. I was responsible for a couple of them!

It's OK; nothing beats MONKEY DANCE Ballmer...NOTHING. :D

From the perspective of a solidly serious mind and being, these things may appear undignified, but he loved what he did and the way he had fun was pretty outrageous, although my uncle would probably agree with the idea this was undignified, although my uncle isn't terribly creative.

I'm guessing your uncle would have realized that it was in jest as well. These things often come with age.

Nope, they should've woken up and realized that MS was the true enemy back then...not IBM.

You are both right. Guy Kawasaki explained this well many years ago. As he said, in business it's important to know who's your main enemy. He acknowledged that Apple committed a strategic blunder in the early '80s by deciding that it was IBM, when in reality it was Microsoft. In fact IBM and Apple had a common enemy, and it was Microsoft. The world might have been a very different place if both companies had understood the Microsoft threat and had linked up their efforts to combat their common enemy instead of taking potshots at each other. Some cooperation finally did emerge during the '90s but by then it was more about desperation than strategic intelligence.

GHOSTBUSTER?!!!
Really?
WTF
What about the movie Star War or The Remain of the Day or even better One Samurai?

Maybe because this trailor was made in 1984 and Ghostbusters was one of thie biggist movies of that year. I have nothing against Star Wars but Return of the Jedi came out in 1983 not 1984. I don't know what years the other two movies came out.

Hahaha .... Crazy , weird , total fun , they were truly enjoying it ......
Cant guess what and how much is still hidden. Definitely altogether different work culture.

Now ,though Walter Isaacson was steve's choice, I think "steve jobs" autobiography is very poorly written ,it got nothing new and boring.

I always admired Bill Gates sense of humour from appearing in Microsoft's internal spoof videos, and kind of viewed Jobs as humourless in that light. It's nice to know Jobs wasn't so humourless... they were just better at keeping a tight lid on their internal videos.
