It's like people upgrade their phones every year so this is unacceptable? ... oh wait, they don't, most people don't. My brother will go from an iPhone X to a 14 Pro. For him, the only person that matters in his choice, he feels it's going to be a massive update. What the 13 was and how different it is to most people who don't upgrade every year is not relavent.

Doesn’t her mother own $$$ billions in Apple shares? Maybe she doesn’t understand that she’s advocating against her own self interest.

The first seed in a grand "Succession" like plan to take over the company, she just needs a good Tom Wambsgans analogue.

Update: The word is that she has Jony Ive in her corner.

That meme is at least 5 years old and posted every single year. It may have been worth a chuckle the first time, now it is just old.
Maybe you are right but I saw it for the first time so I assume she did too. Anyway my point is that internet can be very overwhelming for young minds so we need to be mindful of that.

Shocking, someone who doesn't care about money and tells people to save their money instead of going for minor spec bumps...

You are aware this is for emergency only, yes? You can't make phone calls with it, you can't text, you can't download. It's just for "I need help at these GPS coordinates", nothing else. Is that really such a massive feature for you? Wouldn't you carry a satellite phone anyway in those remote locations?
Yes. I spend many days of the year in areas without cell connection. Often in severe weather.

That's why she needs to go PROOOOOOOO $$$$ (that's why i wish i could go pro, 13 model here) :(

But one year happens really fast and iphone 15 with usb c port is around the corner...
Next September, probably less than one year now, they will announce the iPhone 15 with A17 Bionic, USB C port, Wi-Fi 6E, 256GB standard and after a year long outcry finally the removal of the annoying Dynamic Island for a completely unobstructed screen area!

Now that’s an upgrade!

Someone should retweet that after most other smartphones, cars, etc get their annual new models, not just Apple.

I am the biggest fan boy because I own every single version on the first day. Waited in line for first iPhone too. I also worked at apple and helped build the first Apple Watch (even wearing it in public before release) and many other products.

I also honestly feel this one is not that big of an upgrade over my 13 pro max 1tb. Dynamic island is a sw feature while neat I am not sure it qualifies as a major reason to upgrade. Sure i will buy it because $2k for a phone every year is nothing for me (in fact I buy multiple for my family members) but what she said wasn’t wrong.

Stand-up applause from me. Not only did that take some serious guts, it's spot on. The Apple of Jobs makes current Apple look pedestrian. His company made revolution a priority. Tim's company makes stockholders a priority.

I'll take the former.

I imagine an alternate timeline where Steve groomed his daughter (Lisa) in his own vision and put in her a position to replace him after working along side him with a unified thought. Then when tragedy struck, she steps up and continues. Of course, Apple has long since proved it knows how to make money. They didn't need Steve for that. Heck, they may have made even less with him around. OR They may have hit their numbers sooner. Who knows. All I do know? His daughter version of him may have been interesting. Instead of the mess he made of it all and tried to correct too late.

She's making two astute observations:
* the 13 to 14 upgrade is minimal, comical really
* Apple can't innovate the way it did when Jobs was at the helm

The non-pro models of the 14 is Apple's way of charging more for the Pro. It's all marketing … and greed.

And? What does her birth year have to do with anything? 24 isn't a young mind. She knows what she is doing.
Most of the people in that age are making those silly reels and tiktoks. I don’t think that a 24 year old today knows what he/she is doing.

Here's the rundown of what happened.

She saw the meme, thought if was goofy and shared it.. Then quickly realized the neckbeards of the world would unite against her and deleted it to save the drama.
