Im sure she sees apple ripping of its customers and what would daddy do no sim tray is a deal breaker for me as someone who has multiple phones i'll keep my iphone 13 pro max for now wait for the 15 to see whats up
She’s allowed to say whatever she wants. I think it’s pretty funny.
On the one hand, it is kind of funny in a savage way. On the other hand, it's one of the wealthiest 20-somethings on the planet taking a sh*t on the workforce that her father abused to afford her lifestyle. If I were someone who worked hard on this project at Apple, I'd be pretty ***** offended.
I don’t know if anyone else had this reaction but I immediately felt Jony Ive’s presence in her post. Probably lots of similar venting from Jony at family dinners
Jony did design work, and nobody that I know of is complaining about the design of the base iPhone 14. Just the lack of upgrades to it, something he wouldn't have really worked on anyway. People are putting Jony on a pedestal here lately and giving him credit for things he didn't even work on.
Shocking, someone who doesn't care about money and tells people to save their money instead of going for minor spec bumps...
You are aware this is for emergency only, yes? You can't make phone calls with it, you can't text, you can't download. It's just for "I need help at these GPS coordinates", nothing else. Is that really such a massive feature for you? Wouldn't you carry a satellite phone anyway in those remote locations?
Woz actually used to line up for days to get iPhones.
He just did it for kicks though.
Jobs was hired to design a famous video game prototype for Atari. He couldn't do it. So he got Woz to do it for a claimed half the money. He was paid $700, and true to his word, he gave Woz $350.
However, what he didn't tell Woz was that depending on how good the design was, he'd get a bonus. Jobs got a $5000 bonus because Woz' design was stellar, but hid that fact from Woz, keeping that entire $5000 for himself.
Yeah, I am sure she doesn't care about money. That's why she deleted it soon after.
Sad but true. Innovation at Apple died long ago. They only think about how to get more money from us. Not how to make life better.

That the case with every phone manufacturer isn't it.. small incremental changes every year. And once in a while a design update.
She can afford to advocate against her own interest. Her family money couldn’t be spent in generations. I’m not defending her comment, just stating reality. She’ll be fine. A few followers not buying a phone isn’t going to hurt her. Every iPhone user will have to update their phones at some point. That’s hundreds of millions of future sales locked in. She’ll survive. 😀
She has something a lot of people in this forum lacks, a sense of humor.
The money comes from Apple. They're known for making people sign dubious contracts. Might have just been that, she might not be allowed to post about it. Just like Apple employees are not allowed to post anything on the internet about Apple and even participate in forum discussions (at least officially). This can include employees children as well as we've seen multiple times in the past. The fact she never posted anything about Apple before also supports this.
I wonder if going forward, the base iPhone will have last year's Pro SoC, and the Pro will get the new SoC.
Oh, they have their ways. Neither does YouTubers, but they can certainly blacklist THEM.
Or, a more gentle approach with hush money, or a gentle reminder about some “no bad talking about Apple” contract that anyone as closely related to Apple’s success would have.
All theories and tin-foil hat type guesses, of course.
I mean phones haven’t been revolutionary in years but each generation brings a lot of smaller tweaks and improvements.
