Now that Steve is getting universal respect from Microsoft, Google, Facebook and others

They all mutually respect each other. They always have done.

:(The world lost one of its best. Thank you very much for everything you've given us. You changed the world and made so many things better. You'll be remembered. We'll miss you.

Rest in Peace

I didn't realize until I found out that you were gone, that you were a hero to me. You will always be an inspiration and a reminder to be true to oneself.

Steve...

I'm pretty sure the way I've lived my life, I've always been a mac. Ever since I was young, I wanted the iMac. I begged and begged my parent's to buy it for me. The bought me the eMachine version of it, and believe it or not, I knew at that time that it wasn't the computer I really wanted. They always had a reason not to buy me any apple product. "The don't have any software for that computer and it's not windows." I did not care.

Finally I got my first iPod in 2004. I loved it. I couldn't get enough of it. Then I got my macbook pro when I turned 16. Mark my words, never will I work with anything other than an apple product.

Steve Jobs did more than just have some good ideas and clever marketing techniques, he made a product that he wanted. He made perfection, he never faltered with his releases. He produced gadgets that will forever be in our lives.

I've been thinking about his passing for the past couple of hours, I couldn't find the right words and I was pretty shocked that it hurt me as much as it did. I believe that we lost a mentor. He may have not been in our lives but through his life with apple he showed us that anything is attainable.

I remember buying a phone in 2006, motorola. Don't remember the model, but it was one of the most expensive phones in the store. It was the first time I was actually paying decent money for a mobile phone, before that one I always took the cheapest thing the store gave me.

Anyway, I got that phone, walked home, opened up and saw that the clock was not set correctly.

It took me half an hour to figure out how to set date/time. And I'm a techie.

So it really doesn't take a long time to realize, how much this guy changed the world of phones, and that was just one more thing. :)

Business is business and shall not be mixed with feelings. You can't create a company like Apple by feeling sorry for your competitors. Many CEOs and other significant people have sent their condolences but that doesn't mean they will stop competing with Apple.

Not trying to spam, but I'm trying to collect photos of Apple Stores today so we can see all the impromptu memorials being created for Steve around the world. You can see them here:

and send any photos you take of Apple Stores to applestorememorials@gmail.com - thank you!

I make ZERO profit from this I am doing it out of my love for Steve and Apple, please don't block me!

Brillant idea, thank you!

Already a great collection of photos, RIP SJ

Eh?

The iPhone 4S is the last work released in Steve's life so in that sense it is a shrine to him, it is also the 4S as in (for Steve) so of all Apple products that have ever been released this is the most special one now even if it is not the most innovative so for Samsung to try and get it banned in some countries and issue lawsuits against Apple about the phone is now incredibly disrespectful and tasteless and if Samsung have a shred of honour they will tear up those lawsuits.

Seriously... drop it already.

If Bill Gates died tomorrow and Apple were in litigation about Windows 8 and trying to get it banned I am sure out of respect for Gates' memory that they would not wish to appear disrespectful and drop or at the very least suspend the litigation.

Tribute

How about as a thank you and tribute everyone changes their email signature on iPhone/iPad to "Sent by my iPhone created by Steve Jobs"?

Seriously... drop it already.

I think it is a valid point tbh

I was not going to get the 4S was going to skip a release and get next years redesign but this changes everything and I feel I have to get it now as a tribute to Steve and I am sure I am not the only one that feels that way

Then again it was Steve who said that you must love what you do. So it's not so simple when it comes to feelings and business. I'm not trying to disagree or anything though, just some insight.

I never send emails on either device, most of my emails need attachments so I use them to read incoming ones.

I will find out on Google what Steve's fave Bob Dylan record was and download it in his honour off iTunes.

If any of you are getting the iPhone 4S - hang on to it........
Because some have said it really means "iPhone 4Steve"
;)

Pretty certain 4S will sell a lot more now indeed.

Thank you Steve

You've been an inspiration to me as a person, your visions and attitude on life, and through the products you've helped to create. I've used Macs ever since I could afford one in 1991 and never looked back, I didn't see any reasons why, didn't have to, it always just works (and that first one still does!).
My condolences go out to your wife, children, family ,colleagues and friends, and everyone you've touched throughout your life. May you rest in peace, knowing that you were loved by millions, your spirit will live on, as a person, and in all of Apple's products, past present and future.

R.I.P.

Today I did send couple of emails and changed the signature to "Sent from "his" iPhone".

What planet do you live on?

Yes Steve was the visionary and face of Apple but its a business with share holders a board of directors and obligations. The same goes for Samsung, no business that takes another to court which could costs millions of dollars is going to drop such actions out of sympathy or in your eyes guilt/respect for any one person that passes away, even if its Steve Jobs, Bill Gates whoever.

Analogy
2 countries at war, one leader dies the other says lets call it quits eh?

Whatever!
