The lack of rumors for new macpros is disturbing me. I am looking to buy soon, but the base models haven't been touched in almost a year. I hope this "massive investments in desktops" means an update across the board and not just the iMac. :(

I'm in the same boat. I somehow feel that only the iMac will get an update at WWDC.

The problem is there is nothing to update it to. Apple already has an exclusive on the fastest processor available 3GHz 8-Core Xeon. The only thing they could possibly do is perform a price drop or add extra ram.

12:44pm - The Holy Grail -- one is a great pocket device... one is connecting content to your TV... why do you describe it [Apple TV] as a hobby? When I tested it it was very easy to set up, why isn't it dead simple to imagine people buying that in large numbers?

Coming from the PC market you first think about getting content from your PC to your livingroom. I'm not sure that's really what most consumers want. It's great to show photos, play your music, but we tend to think of that as the entree -- that's the peas on the side.

I brought something to show you.

The suspense is killing me!

Looks like we might be seeing a new feature for AppleTV.

[Going through the interface -- talking about streaming.] One of the things we stream directly is movie trailers -- here's a little moving coming out at the end of June, it's called Ratatouille.

12:48pm - Works fine off cable modem -- works even better on 100mbit fiber optic networks I hear people have. You can buy movies off iTunes as well. It's pretty good quality -- we arent selling high def... at this point. But I think in the future that might change!

Gradually Exiting Computer Business? "No. If you come to WWDC we're rolling out our new version of OSX -- massive investments in desktops. You'll love it." - Engadget

well, does that mean we get new iMacs. maybe a headless mac?

by not mentioning the notebooks does that mean the Macbook Pros are not very different from what we have now?

two more weeks....................

Here it comes: “The other thing you can do is buy TV shows.” Jobs pulls up a clip from “The Office.” He says sending stuff from your computer to the Apple TV isn’t the main deal here. “Wouldn’t it be great if you could see YouTube on your TV?”

no.

Woo! YouTube plugin for Apple TV in the next few weeks! Good move, Apple, capitalise on the success and popularity of Youtube to maximise the usage of your new media product.

Steve Jobs quote about the lack of a keyboard on the iPhone:
I bet you dinner that after a few days of using it you'll be convinced.
Steve is taking a big risk here. He doesn't earn a very big salary, as we know. :p

But perhaps his confidence is justified.

oof i really wanted 720 for television, i was about to plunk down for an ?tv and hdtv last week, but the quality of iTS shows aren't good enough at SDTV for me. oh well hopefully before the next seasons of heroes and battlestar begin.

That's what he's saying. He's explaining that 3G isn't included in the iPhone because the "REAL" internet is (wi-fi), which is more capable.

That's a load of crock though.

I'm curious why he would talk about Cingular investing all this money in 3G networks when it's not even in his device. It's not his style. He's suggesting that the iPhone will have 3G, which we know it won't because of FCC. But he says "we're going to take advantage of some of these investments in bandwidth." Sounds like he's on the 3G bandwagon. i think he's just talking about the DEVICES not being able to display the REAL internet, not the wireless service feeding those devices.

Um... I've been able to do that for a long time now. It is called the Nintendo Wii Opera Browser...

June is in two days, seeing as this plug in already exists, who cares?
All I hear is Nelson "HA HA"

Pretty cool interface

It's not about style, it's about business. By now, he's heard all the uproar about the iPhone's shortcomings - the most obvious one being the lack of the next gen. mobile internet... now he's trying to justify the decision to omit 3G.
