3 pages in and we have yet to hear what an egomaniac ****** Jobs is, how he exploits Chinese kids in his factories, how he doesn't care about charities, and how Bill Gates, "Human Being of the...All Time," is single-handedly saving the entire African continent via a secret new touchscreen Windows 7 device from his $150 million lair on Lake Washington?

The trolls are starting to get lazy...

Wow, I fail. Didn't even notice this page 1 belch:

The perfect early Christmas gift for an egotistical ---hole.

Nothing from the usual suspects yet though. Odd...

Jack Welch, Bill Gates, or Steve Jobs, or Sam Walton are all great contenders.

Not so sure about BG, as he bailed when the going got tough. He'll likely go down in history as a "one hit wonder,"

who's predatory practices earned him that spot.

It was somewhat camouflaged by the preface, "perfect early Christmas gift..."

As for the others, perhaps the Redmond Shill Disbursement Center has run dry. :)

Congrats Steve! :apple:

Love or hate him or love or hate the Mac, there is no denying what he has accomplished with his drive, determination, and foresight!

I hope he's around to be in the bidding for the next Fortune's 'CEO of the Decade'!

Bill Gates was also on that list, and he certainly had more impact on more people than Steve Jobs and Larry Page and Sergey Brin combined.

We'e talking about the current decade. BG's contribution to that was extremely minor.

Ahh, but in our ridiculous society full of political correctness and not wanting to hurt feelings, everybody gets to voice an opinion.

But seriously, you are right on. He won the award. Who cares if people think he shouldn't have?

AMEN!

Steve definitely has more accomplishments under his belt than, say Obama, that can persuade one as to why he won that award versus the idiots in charge of "giving" the Nobel Peace Prize to some President who was on the job for only 30 days before the nomination deadline.

If I were Steve, I'd graciously accept the award on behalf of all the wonderful talent at Apple that made products like the Mac, iPod and iPhone come true.

If I were Obama, I'd go to Sweden and accept the Nobel Peace Prize on behalf of the real peacemakers, The United States Military!

He probably could have helped the U.S. auto industry if there was enough time in his schedule. I am sure he has some thoughts on that.

From the Personal Computer, Computer Animation, Music Industry, Smart Phone Industry, and Retail, he is a true visionary,

and an extraordinary leader with a remarkable sphere of achievements - congratulations!

And next up will (rumouredly) be the ebook industry and possibly the "netbook" / tablet PC industry. :)

Steve Jobs had me at "Hello"

Mac128k.jpg

And I´ve been a Mac since then. And previously I was an Apple IIe, a Commodore 64 an Atari 800 and an Amiga 500 (in 1986 or so)

If I can end up being 1/4 of the professional that he is, Ill consider myself a very successful business man.

I'd love to pick his brain for just one hour over coffee. He seems like a great guy to just chat with.

if not just interesting, very deep and yet fun to chill with. I can imagine learning so much from him; not just professionally but also on a spiritual level of oneself - his outlook on life.

If Warren Buffet can command several million dollars in an auction for lunch at a five star restaurant for unincumbered questions, i'd love to see Jobs have one.

Steve just gets the Job done! (pun intended)

hmm. Something tells me with recent iPhone apps, the iPhone along with it's connectivity, multiple-finger & now Multi-hand/point patents, and finally OpenGL I think well see a sudden push into the healthcare hardware & teh industry. After all Jobs and crew/family is not getting any younger.

Microsoft has played with cg ideas for how technology can significantly improve hospital staff - but I feel that it's Apple that'll improve hospital workk for staff, care for patients, and advance modern medicine studies. Oh wait isn't Dtanford U doing this wih Xserves already??!

Who was the "CEO of the Decade" in 1999, or 1989, or 1979?

I haven't had any luck finding them.

Depends on the magazine. Sometimes people take list seriously as if they were written in stone by god, rather than some unknown douches. Like when MTV named Oprah number one in some big list, I was amazed by how take those lists as gospel. Meanwhile everybody else made similar lists with different results.

Actually it looks like a guy knee deep in the trenches of his company while the other (work smarter, not harder) jobs is fine with delegating/demanding success.

To different styles of management.

Seriously? Has Bill worked on products at his office through CANCER treatment?

I'd say Steve Jobs is a damn entrenched man.

I appreciate Bill Gates for his philanthropy, but sorry, it's hard to argue with this award. The dude not only saved the company he was booted from, he mad e it a household name and in some respects has given it more brand value that even microsoft. He then went on to work with his team to reboot and change forever the music scene, animated movies, and the way we perceive and use our computers...

In the process, he continued to do it through one of the worst economies of the century while also amassing billions in cash reserves for his completely DEBT FREE company.

I really can't see a good argument against it.
