I hope Steve comes back looking fatter and disproves all those theories of him having cancer again.

Would like to see Steve Jobs on stage tomorrow!

Live long and prosper.

Does anyone know if he attended the Academy Awards?

I certainly hope he isn't there. I know it would be his choice, but its best if he relaxes away from the public and focuses on his health.

The reveal is likely a very positive emotional experience for him. I'm sure many doctors would actually recommend it.

Hope he does make an appearance and he looks as fit as a butchers dog :D
Anyone know what time this is set to happen, US or UK time?

:apple:

Steve Jobs at Media Event on Mar 2?

So Steve Jobs may or may not be at the event?

<sarcasm>
Wow! Such riveting reporting! How in the world did they come up with such ground-breaking insight?
</sarcasm>

If this is true the stock will increase to 400$ :apple:

unless he's frail, like most outlets are claiming. It will actually bring confidence levels down if people see him in an ailing state. Not good for stockholders really. If he's not looking/feeling good, they should not allow him to come on stage. Perception is everything with Apple.

As long as it isn't in any way detrimental to his wellbeing I'd like to see him there.

Looking forward to what tomorrow brings!

He'll probably just be the linker introducing various execs to talk about the new stuff. IE: The iTunes guy to talk about MobileMe/iTunes (if that's happening), Scott Forstall about iOS and then he'll do the One More Thing...

I could see him starting off/ending the show, but not do any real presenting. They spend a ton of time working on these presentations, and it doesn't sound like Steve has been working with them that closely.

I don't think he'd steal too much away from an iPad 2 announcement. If anything, the headline would be "Steve Jobs returns to reveal iPad 2." I think the iPad is a big enough brand that it would merge with the Steve Jobs story and make the whole event that much bigger.

I sometimes feel that Jobs must give some chance to Tim Cook and other execs to show off the stuff.

Another thing, I wish that steve rests and returns healthy.

But on the other hand, I think that he should just enjoy himself in every other product release as long as he can & as long as he wishes. No one wants to fade away with dead feelings. I guess he is going to cheer up with friends/colleges/developers/apple fans once again which is good for him.

Get well soon, Steve. :)

FaceTime Call

Perhaps we will see an iPad FaceTime call from Tim Cook to Steve Jobs.

Tim will sit down to make a FaceTime call to Steve, both with iPhones in hand, they show how the iPhone FaceTime call can instantly hand off to the iPad. SEAMLESSLY!! "Isn't this amazing Tim? yes Steve it is"

Of course Jailbreakers won't be able to do this if their FaceTime call is going on over 3G...

They will show off 4.3 with availability within one week and iPad at the end of next week.

I hope they will show off iOS 5. Very possible... they did it for 4.0 about this early as well.

iOS 4.3 as we know is not that big of a jump.

By doing this, they're treating the tablet as a computer and not a product like the iPod or iPhone. It'd only make sense that it moves faster in terms of specs and upgrades.

I dont care about all the business crap and the stocks will go high etc I just hope the man himself feels good and I hope his health is good or getting better and that his family are Ok.

Apple products arnt the most important thing in life

Since the iPad 2 is sounding more like an iPad 1.5, and Steve looks awful at the moment, the "weak product introduced by a weak CEO" headlines could hurt Apple more than help.

I worked with Steve; I like and admire Steve. But if he does more than a facetime call, he will do more damage than good. I want him to put all his energy to recovering.

I think this will be like the 2008 "the reports of my death are greatly exaggerated" keynote where he'll be something like "I have got a lot more than 6 weeks left to live, but, unfortunately, we've only got 6 kick-ass new products to unveil today" or similar. Or at least, I hope. :(

Seems like a FaceTime appearance would make the most sense. They have to demo it with someone, so why not Steve? Uses the widely-reported absence to illustrate how useful it is for talking face-to-face. (And faces on the iPad will be nearly life-size?)

Maybe he'll even throw in some comment about how the new MobileMe is making it really easy to be out of the office.

I'm also not totally buying this whole "iPad 1.5" thing. Sounds like a convenient rumour to be spread by the hundreds of Android manufacturers who's tablets are a little behind the game.

How dos this fit? Minor specs bumb (+ silly ipad 3 in 2011 rumors) but steve introducing it even though he did nothing like that during his last medical break.
