Roll out the next generation! :)

If all goes well, my credit card will do summersaults out my wallet with dramatic slow motion lens-flare effect. :D

LMAO :)

I am going to buy 3 iMacs when the new version comes out. One 24" and two 17" (or the 20" if the 17" is cancelled) for my research lab. :apple::D

ultraportable

Maybe we'll be seeing an ultraportable touch-screen "tablet....." You know, bigger than the iPhone but looking a lot like it, and yet smaller than the MB or MBP.....

Well, I can dream, can't I?

I so much like this . A mac thats optional touch screen in flat or erect mode with optional battery pack with a kick ass new intel processor chip on a 10-20 gb flash drive. Cooler , faster , lighter and more power efficient

Uh...

I'm a tad confused as to the importance of this rumor... exactly how many times has Jobs not been at a product media announcement like this one?

Just to keep count, if a redesigned iMac is introduced on Tuesday, wouldn't this be the first time a major iMac redesign was introduced at an event that wasn't a Macworld? Not like thats a problem with me

Well the past MacWorld I believe was the first time it had absolutely nothing to do with Macs whatsoever so...... 1st time for everything.

It continues to amaze me how there is only one company in the world that has this type of a following. I admit I have the same feelings but wow, what other company would get. "OMG, OMG they are holding a press conference!" "OMG, OMG the CEO will be speaking!" lol

:apple::cool:

Indeed, especially when it comes to a COMPUTER company (although, of course, Apple has branched out a bit in past years!)

Bill Gates and company would KILL to have such buzz...and Apple's aura continues to grow, develop, and mature.

Steve Jobs Had Breakfast

It was reported today that Steve Jobs had breakfast. This has been the case in the past whenever he is about to announce new Mac models! Stay tuned for more news!

hmmm

This is my first post here! Im a long time reader, but sign up only today.

Im guessing apple will show iLife 2007 for mac AND windows! Maybe other stuff too, as people here are discussing. Easyer integration between iphone/ipod to your computer with iphone/ipod showing up in iphoto like it does in itunes. Since they already released itunes and safari for windows, they now will continue with iLife. Thats what im guessing.

Apple will NEVER release iLife on Windows.

I just want a 24" iMac with a faster-than-ever processor, multi-touch features, a free Leopard upgrade, and half the price of the previous models. C'mon, Steve. Is that too much to ask?

Isn't that what the member who posted the 4 millionth post gets?

He had a pink frosted donut. At least that's what I heard from the boyfriend of the girl who waxes his back.

come on iMacs

What is this stuff at the top of your post, it looks like it says you are posting from an iPhone... did you type this in your self or have it automatically do it? and why do some say iPhone nano?
Thanks!

My prediction

I've been saying this in other posts but I just bet the delay in iMacs is related to Leopard only features including gestural support on screen or in a trackpad device (I hope it's on screen). I also think it curious that C&C3 didn't ship in July like promised at the keynote. Remember that it was hinted there were special "features" that he couldn't mention. Why not if it only supported OS 10.4? Also, the rumors of another OS 10.4 upgrade in the works for special developers is also intriguing. I think this will likely be special iMac gestural support until Leopard is released. Again, keep in mind that the iPhone is running a version of OSX. The touch screen interface is just a version of the Dock, etc. Apple can blow away the PC market with a touch screen Mac with gestural support ala iPhone and Leopard when it ships in October. That, coupled with rumors of new Cinema displays (which should also support touch).

We'll know if I'm right on Tuesday. Let's hope so.:):apple:

Come on SJ!

Daddy needs an iPhone sock!!!

:p;):D

Seriously, realistically I'm hoping for:

- new 20"/24" aluminum enclosure Macs (drop the "i" already Apple) with 256MB VRam and 512MB VRAM respectively. This would justify keeping the prices at the same $1499 and $1999 price points and opening up a nice pricing gap between the Mac mini's and Mac desktop's for a new Mac Pro mini tower line.

- widescreen 11" "MacTouch / MacInTouch"?:D (ultra-portable, slate/tablet with multi touch input and virtual keyboard ala iPhone.) Would be able to stand it up portrait or landscape like a picture frame and could plug-in a keyboard/mouse if preferred, especially the new thin MacBook-like keyboard (possible shortened notebook version offered that cuts off at the RETURN key) and mouse that will ship with the new Macs (formerly iMacs) to use instead of the virtual keyboard. This would be perfect for the back to school buying season.

- Core 2 Duo Mac mini with better graphics system and pre-N wireless (IF the mini hasn't been $h*t canned altogether already) at the same $599 and $799 price points to not cannibalize Apple TV potential sales at $299/$399 but at the same time staying far enough away from the lowest end Mac at $1499 to allow for new Mac Pro mini towers at $999 and $1299.

- oh for the love of DOG APPLE, PLEASE give us a couple of Mac Pro mini towers at $999 and $1299 (256MB and 512MB VRam respectively).

- Backlit Cinema Displays (20"/-24"-/30") with built in iSights and $100-$200 price drops ($499/$799/$1599) would be perfect additions for new Mac mini's and/or Mac Pro mini towers.

If the new Macs are really gonna shed the 17" consumer model at $1299 as rumored (afterall, Apple can quietly keep the $999 17" educational Mac), then the line-up I just described is totally reasonable.

I'm also hoping for (if not at this Mac based event, then soon after):

- Updated iPods... duh. Will NOT be all touchscreen because the click wheel is needed for iPod games and the multi-touch input will remain exclusive to the iPhone (and possibly the MacTouch/MacInTouch I described above) for now.

- Updated Apple Hi-Fi with wireless audio streaming capability.

- Airport Express with pre-N wireless and composite video streaming capability. Component, and later higher HD (1080p+) support, will distinguish Apple TV from this updated Airport Express.

After the leather case/iPod hifi disaster of an event, having Steve there is no indication of anything. For all we know, he might just introduce a suede iPhone case or something.

HOW MANY TIMES?

This is a Mac event only. Not iPhone, Apple TV, or iPod.

Ditto discodave.

I made my iPhone sock comment at the beginning of my post with the highest level of humurous sarcasm. These other type of posts are as humorless at this point as the "G5 PowerBook next Tuesday" posts and seem to be mean spirited and heart felt.

Geez people, get over it.

I for one am very excited about this upcoming event. It's going to be a sad day at Apple when Steve can't give the keynote anymore. I wonder if they'll wheel him out in a wheelchair when he's 100+ years old? Steve you're the man.:D

He is already getting old. He doesn't have the same magic that I remember, I chalked up it to his surgery but he has yet to regain it.

You think? For me there's something magical about old Steve, still in his turtle-neck and jeans, getting excited about a truly great product. Like a lovable old dog that still plays frisbee, and still kicks your ass at it.

Even now he understands what makes a great product, and for that reason he will always be a great CEO, and a great salesman to boot.

Long live Steve, says I.
