Steve Jobs to Give June 7th Keynote at WWDC

If WWDC didn't cost that much I might have been able to get tickets this time around. It does seem kind of funny that the cost for WWDC is as much as an iMac. Oh, and that doesn't include the plane ticket or hotel costs to stay out there for a week.

When people complain or comment on Apple, it is usually based on their own, individual, self-centered needs and desires, so here's mine! Phones don't get me excited, computers do!
I would love to see Steve Jobs towards the end of the keynote say: "And one more thing!".
Then he announces a small, mini-tower sized device that is basically like an iMac without the monitor, available with i5 or i7 CPU's! And it will retail for under 1k!
Then after that, Steve Jobs will announce the return of a special, limited edition, black Macbook pro!
I would love to see Steve Jobs towards the end of the keynote say: "And one more thing!".

Maybe they are going to skip the 4G and go directly to the 5G with features AT&T won't be able to handle.

I mus be behind the times, but what can somebody do with a 64 gig iphone? Put a million mp3's on it? Watch 1080p movies on that tiny, low resolution screen?

Your life must be one disappointment after another. You really think there is ever a chance Apple will ever make a mini-tower from this point on going forward?

I have a great back up plan! The name of the plan starts with hack and ends with tosh!
That's one of the reasons I'm such a big Apple fan: they go above and beyond any other company that I have been to or purchased from to make their customers feel appreciated.
I'm hoping that the new iPhone is different than what has been leaked. Still not a fan of seams/square look. I'll be on MacRumors all day on the 7th!
I thought it was usually Saturday mornings? I haven't waited in line before for a new release, but I am planning to for the new iPhone. Anybody know?
No one will know until June 7. Last year's iPhone 3GS was released on a Friday MORNING, but the iPad releases were Frday at 5 PM. I'd guess it's the latter, although if they simultaneously release it in AT&T stores (or whatever mobile carriers offer it
), it might be in the morning.Tony
I hope you are right, but with 64GB NAND flash modules still retailing at about $250, I can't see how Apple could afford to put it in the iPhone, even if they get it for half of that. Knowing Apple, they is no way that they want to stray from their current price points, nor do they want to make the iPhone thicker to accomodate 2 flash slots.
As for how I can use it, well, my audio library is 90GB+ and my movie / TV show library is about the same. I have about 10GB of applications as well.
I HATE having to manage through that, and 64GB plus the 128 kbps on the fly conversion will finanally at least let me put my entire audio library as well as all of my apps on my iPhone at once, and stilll leave a little room for video. Tony

The 64GB itouch retails for $100 more than the 32GB version. Apple's actual cost on that additional 32GB of modules is probably <$50 (given their insane margins). i.e. the real cost to Apple for a 64GB iphone should be no more than $50 and to the customer will be no more than $100 extra.

The price of the 64GB Touch is irrelevant here. The iPhone only has ONE flash memory slot -the Touch has TWO. There is a HUGE price difference between the readily available 32GB NAND flash modules (of which the 64GB touch has two) and the very difficult to find and just released 64GB NAND flash modules - the 64GB modules are like 4+ times the cost of the 32GB modules right now. The price of putting a single 64GB module into the iPhone is probably double or more than the TOTAL of the two 32GB modules in the Touch.
I'm still wishing, but I don't see how it could happen unless Apple had a special early on pre-arrangement with Toshiba that fixed a low price for future delivery, which I'm not sure would even be legal, and thus doubtful.

Apple will use two 32GB modules like the iTouch - - it's part of the redesign.
Well, the both of the found 4G prototypes had only ONE flash slot, so there is no indication or likelyhood that there would be two. The iPhone would have to be THICKER to fit a second slot, since there is no room otherwise. And there is NO WAY that Apple makes the iPhone thicker. I wouldn't MIND them doing that, but they will not - guaranteed. They have never made ANY portable device thicker in their recent history that I can think of.

And yet the iPod Touch is thinner than the iPhone - - could it be that the prototype was not the finished design?
The Touch is thinner because it doesn't have any PHONE hardware in it, which takes considerable room.

this, to me, confirms they will be announcing the 4G iPhone.
what would be great is if Jobs showed a little humor about the whole leaked prototype. something like when he is about to introduce it he reaches into his pocket and says "its not here" then a light reveals a barstool on the other side of the stage with the new iPhone on it. that would be great.
