Woah! So no surprises this year! We already know what they will be doing! Well here is hoping that iOS 5 will come out soon and be awesome! And I hope iCloud will be good too, with no high monthly cost.

There will be ... one more thing! I'm sure! It has to!

Sure they told us everything they want us to know up front but you know that "One more thing...." is going to make an appearance

Of course he'd announce things. He loves the spotlight.

I'm sure there are plenty of other smaller things to announce here too like more computer models that are kept secret. Hoping for a new time capsule to better host iCloud.

Apple still has plenty of opportunities to surprise us. We know all there is to know about iCloud, do we? No, Steve can pull some interesting rabbits out of that hat. We know every new feature in iOS 5? I'm betting we don't, but we soon will...

Seems unusual that they'd give a list of things they plan to announce beforehand. They must be really worried about people not showing up over the rumors about no new iPhone.

Considering that WWDC was sold out after about seven hours, I don't think they would have any problems filling seats if some developers don't turn up. And please note that WWDC stands for "World Wide Developers Conference". The "D" stands for "Developers" not for "Rumour whores". That's people making a living by writing software for MacOS X and iOS devices, not people desperately lapping up the latest rumours.

That seems to confirm the postponement of this year's iPhone until the Autumn; with Lion, iOS 5 and iCloud to talk about, there's more than enough for a keynote.

This is a Developers conference. iOS 5 is important for developers. iPhone 5 isn't.

Since you don't expect any surprises, any surprises will come totally surprising for you!

with sj the key he will announce one more thing, for sure. imo we all expect way too much out of apple, the stress of the biz of tech, something they have created themselves, must wear heavily.

There are sure to be lots of rumors swirling around as to what that "one more thing" is going to be. I haven't a clue :( I just hope that it is something Mac related.

Clashes directly with Microsoft's E3 press conference.

Does anybody know if Apple will stream the event live on their website? Because they choose not to for iPad 2 event.

Where is the Apple I have come to know and love? The one that keeps me guessing and feeding off rumors and supposed leaks until 10AM Pacific Time on announcement day?

I can't remember Apple ever telling you what was being introduced at an event in a press release.

That could mean that there will be a really good "one more thing" ;)

Well that's not really true is it? I think developers found it pretty important to know the iPhone 4 was going to get a much higher resolution screen for example.

Great news: Steve Jobs alive and back on stage.

Mediocre news: Lion and iOS 5. Lion is doing nothing for me so far, but I see where they are coming from. $129 (assumed) for that OS is... not worth my while.

Sad news: iCloud. Still don't see this as a favorable service. Maybe it will make sense once uncovered, but it needs constant connection which we don't have yet. SOmeone needs to string wifi-cell coverage across the nation and world before cloud becomes something serious. Knobbletech.

Apple didn't tell you exactly what is being released. Lion was a given, iOS 5 was a given, just the iCloud is something new.

Apple hasn't told us all the things that iOS 5 actually is, or what new secret things they've put into Lion outside of the developer releases.

I bet you'll know a lot more about iOS 5, iCloud and OS X Lion by NOON EST next Monday than you know now.

iCloud: a solution looking for a problem?

Can someone explain to me what's the point of an Apple music streaming service? (Of course I could save space with it, but with storage prices falling constantly it's not a major issue.)

Streaming would only really be useable over WiFi (3G with my carrier performance and high prices? No thanks), in which case I could just do it locally at home. And if I'm away from my home network, I'd still rather have the content with me which would be more reliable.

I'm happy to be corrected, but I just don't get it :).

Well, this is bizarre. I don't think Apple has ever pre-announced something in a press release before. They must be pretty confident iCloud and iOS 5 will impress.

No, nor me.

I guess we'll have to wait a week and see what all the fuss is about. :)

*serious nerdgasm*

OS X Lion, iOS 5 and a new cloud service. Monday is my last exam of the academic year, too. I never thought I'd enjoy a Monday, ever.

I hope this iCloud business doesn't stop Apple from releasing bigger drives in the iOS line... 128 GB+ is most definitely needed.
