I think Macbook Pros will be updated at MWSF. Also, doubt the true video iPod will be out by then... all the designs being thrown around look too high-tech for now, and issues with scratches on the touch screen will have to be taken care of as well. I'd say more like Holiday 2007 for that~
If it takes that long before C2D finds its way into the MBP, I think Apple will be laughed at by a lot of the other manufacturers who have already announced models due before the holiday season.

I agree, theres no way that apple will wait that long for an update! Would just be utterly stupid.

They might get laughed at but apple will be the ones laughing when their the first to debut santa rosa with 800mhz fsb and nand flash. Hopefully this is whats going to happen

A confirmation is always nice. :)

How on earth is this being voted as Negative? Also what's up with the last option in the poll? That depresses me! :(

I guess there are some pillocks out there who are voting negative on every news item simply because none of them say "MEROM MBPS OUT TOMORROW"

This is a little disappointing that Steve is confirming to keynote MWSF 2007 when it's just October, which means he probably wants us to wait (I hope not). :(

Besides, hasn't Steve keynoted MWSF every year?

lets hope we get new MBPs before Macworld in Jan!

in Jan i hope to get iTV, iLife '07, Leopard and maybe an iPhone

I would like to see iTV a cross between Tivo and Front Row

There is not much i would like to see added to iLife but i bet Steve will make my buy it

The Intel powered Macs and iLife got the lion's share of the MWSF2006 keynote and iWork only got a few slides showing improvements to Keynote and Pages got so I am hoping iWork (new spreadsheet app and a very improved Pages) gets some good airtime at MWSF2007.

iTV has already been announced, of course they'll demo it.
Video iPod... possible. I think "true video iPod" is a misnomer, there already are video iPods, it just might get better over time.
No Apple Phone, for obvious reasons. The Apple Phone will only appear if they can't persuade the rest of the market to license iTunes, or if they're totally, completely, and utterly stupid.
iLife/iWork - well, of course!
More Leopard Features - ditto.
More Movie Studios - hard to believe that wouldn't be the case.
Steve Jobs retiring - possible, but why would it be announced at this MacWorld as opposed to any other time?

This is my prediction as well. We'll see!

Right! We've all but forgotten about "Numbers" or whatever they're calling it. "Sheets?" I've forgotten what the latest name is.

i've been pessimistic about the mbp update for a while now considering how long it would take for santa rosa if they released a new one now.

I want Bill Gates to have a keynote that has a timeline of all the Pocket PC Phones releases they had in the last 5 years. Then Bill Gates will say "So you know what we have been doing for the last 5 years. Lets see what some of our competitors have been doing with phones in that time."

Apple, please come out with the damn phone!

Steve Jobs says "iRetire" and walks off. I just don't see him retiring anytime soon.

MWSF needs confirmation for thier marketing materials.
I still believe that there will be some type of announcement, on something, before Thanksgiving.

Am I the only one who thought the iTV interface looked less than polished?

My guess is that they are holding thier cards close on all things related to the iTV. :)

I reaallly don't see Leopard being out in January.

In other news, the pope today announced that he is Catholic. He also confesses to **** in the woods.

No really, I expect quite a number of those things, but then at the end one more thing that nobody expects, not a phone, not another iPod, but something radically different. Just like the games at the last Stevenote, only bigger, something that will make you go Huh? Wtf ? Wow ! :) Now where's that credit card? :D

I agree. One last big announcement before the Holiday Season.

I'm really excited about the iTV. That and Leopard is what I'll be eager to hear about.

Yup - I hear you. Apple going three months, in the wind-up to holiday shopping without any more "press", I don't think so. I wish it were the iPhone, but I concurr with the rest that this is unlikely. MBPs then?

Just my opinion which has proven shockingly accurate this year.

MacBook Pro
I expect it to be updated within a month with a silent update when inventories of Yonah MacBook Pros are moderated. It wil have 802.11n installed but will not be supported until Airport super extreme or whatever is formally updated in November. Or perhaps on OSX 10.5 software update in 1-07.

MacBook
I expect it to stay Yonah until 1-07 when Steve wil show it as "one more thing". This is an Apple profit center and the market share leader. Maybe even colors at an upprice.

Mac-Mini 1-07 update to Merom and the declaration by Steve Jobs of 100% 64 bit accross the product line, a truly great achievement which will give him a legacy.

This will be the last "really impressive" processor upgrade for 2+ years into the future. Remaining improvements will be in features, communications, integration, sooftware, etc. The processor will become a gently updated commodity. This will be the first time ever, regular people will stop waiting for their computer to work, even when using multiple applications.

OSX wil be updaed to 10.5 of course as this is the central theme of 1-07. Related to this we will see updates of iApps to take advantage of new features and increased integration.

iPhone will be announced. Candy Bar format. Cingular as carrier with one of those rebranding agreements. Possibly even before Christmas.

There will be a separate media event for iTV and the iPod allscreen. That unit will be the center of a human's universe, Steve's dream of his lifetime. Phone/broadband, iPod, PDA, remote, OSX lite, everything except wiping your butt. Third parties will release that feature as a dongle. You will think you are Picard on ST-TNG.

Mac Pro 8-way. Dual Clovertown C2Q. Released.

X-serve 8-way. Dual Clovertown. Announced. The supercomputer reinvented.

802.11n networking. Surprise. Has been shipping since iMac Merom C2D.
