Prosecutors and DoJ are applying 40x the oomph as they are applying to Hillary (who violated provisions hundreds of times) and 1x the oomph they applied to General Petraeus (who probably did violate a provision). This is selective enforcement and also gross prosecutorial over-reach since they know or should know this is blatantly unconstitutional.

There is a REASON why there are hundreds of phones sitting there "waiting" to be cracked. They are uncrackable without massive expense. This is a money issue not a technical issue.

The other thing the government (Obama) is pissed about is whatever Apple does with NSA (No Such Agency) over NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) does not apply to domestic crimes. This is also jurisdiction creep.

The other misdirection the government is using is they need to crack the phone for justice for the victims. I have news for you, once the perps were both killed by authorities justice as defined in our system was complete. When a person is dead they stop all judicial proceedings because the case is no longer "ripe". So the over reach is not only constitutional, and spy vs police, but also going past a ripe case into a nether region of theoretical but in no way probable cause co-conspirators. This is being used as a test case for legal over-reach on at least three levels.

Obama constitutional scholar my *ss. He is a constitutional destructor.

Desperation breeds fraud. I think this brief might be an optimum test case to challenge so-called "sovereign immunity" falsely granted to government employees when sovereignty in this country lies with "we the people" not the government and its agents. I hope the unusual attention this case has garnered motivates the folks filing briefs to also follow up on the falsifications and frauds used to make the case for breaking encryption. The spanking the government so richly deserves is actually possible in this case because they have gone so freaking far over their skies.

The war on terror is less believable than the war on drugs. The US gov contribute and fabricate both to enforce more control over the people.

What will it take for the people to start an uprising?!

They only way the people will rise up is if someone cuts off their food and entertainment (panem et circenses). Those in charge learned well from the Roman empire, as long as the people's bellies are full and they're entertained, most they don't care who is in charge. 'Muerica has become the 4th Reich.o_O

I need a back door to FBI files incase I did something...

Hey Woz, I love how you emphasized the word, "EFF" to get noticed. But either way...that's cool you support "human rights" (with strong tone).

He makes a great point. If America gets the back door, so does every government that Apple sells products in. No one is safe.

I have this awful feeling that this will go through, and this is how some crazy one world government conspiracy weirdness thing will go through where the government can watch their people and monitor their chatter because of this back door. Just hypothesizing. It's like watching the start of a movie or novel.
Your fears are my fears, and that 'big brother watching all of us' scenario is a real possibility, unless there's massive public opposition causing Congress to have second thoughts. No doubt governments the world over are watching.

Wait. They already have the phone records and messages? Then, why in the world do they do they "need" Apple to break their own encryption for this phone? Smh.
Because iMessage is not handled by Verizon, and any iMessages are stored on the phone, encrypted, and unable to be accessed by any outside force.

There is an iSIS app on it that reveals how dumb the FBI is, so they have to intercept it before it goes public.

Wheels of Zeus was sold for just north of $40 million. Not bad for "closing" the company.

This whole FBI vs Apple thing reminds me of the whole NFL/Roger Goodell vs Tom Brady thing over some deflated pig skins. Both the FBI and Goodell are desperately trying to show who's boss and crying for a dangerous precedence to be set. Just let it go already.
