Fantastic detailed review from Rene Richie over on iMore:
https://www.imore.com/iphone-x-review

If you're on the fence about buying iPhone X this year, you should go ahead and read it.

His summary conclusion is iPhone X is the best product Apple has ever made. This surely makes the price of iPhone X worth paying.

Good luck joining the lines on Friday :)

As much as I am patiently waiting for my iPhone X to arrive in 2 days, iMore / Rene Richie is baised to the max.

iMore is some sort of marketing ''tool'' for Apple Inc.

He isn't biased. He is not a marketing tool for Apple. Rene just calls things as he sees them.

Rene rates other Apple products very highly, so if he says iPhone X is the best product Apple has ever made - that shows you how incredible this new iPhone truly is.

How come everyone thinks positive reviews are ‘biased’ and negative reviews are ‘honest’?

This guy obviously likes the phone, and he’s being honest about that.

Rene certainly wouldn't throw around words like "best ever" if iPhone X fell short in any shape or form. He could praise the product without going too far with it. For him to say it is the best product Apple has ever made, and Rene has used pretty much everything Apple has ever made, it says a lot about how amazing iPhone X is.

Fantastic detailed review from Rene Richie over on iMore:
Rene, is such a blind fan of Apple, I would not expect anything less from him. If you want an unbiased review of an apple product you're better served if you go somewhere other then iMore.

I'm not knocking imore, I like what they have to say but for critical reviews that are objective - that's not going to happen

This...I can't take that guy seriously when it comes to objectively reviewing an Apple product because he has Apple blinders on. That site occasionally has useful articles, but much better info elsewhere.

I read the review and check out iMore often. It made me happy as someone who has pre-ordered the iPhone X to read that Rene thinks this is the best product Apple have released. But in reality Rene is an Apple fan at heart. He doesn't often launch anything too critical.

I feel any blogger (or critic as they sometimes call themselves for an ego boost) that wants to move into that realm of receiving something like a new iPhone model before the release date to review is always going to paint Apple in a good light, they don't want negative reviews streaming out right before a launch.

Well Rene has written hundreds of product reviews, and never once have I seen him express the words he has chosen to use to describe the iPhone X. To say something is the best thing Apple has ever made, given their incredible history, that is very exciting to me.

Right but have you ever heard him say an Apple product was half-baked? He's an Apple enabler. I give him as much credibility on Apple products as I do Paul Thurotte on MS products. The fact Ritchie used such glowing words having such little time with the phone -- and this goes for any of the reviews -- is suspicious. iMore is great site for use tips but their reviews read like they are selling candy to kids.

My X is arriving Friday. Excited to get it. But c'mon, like any product, it's not without omissions and flaws. I'd much rather have a review really try to pull out the flaw to temper my own expectations and to give the manufacture a heads up of things that need modification next generation or software update.

I've read many of his reviews, I also watch him on Macbreak Weekly, and the logical gymnastics he performs to justify some of Apple's missteps (yes they can screw up ), is astounding. He may be a very nice guy, I enjoy iMore, so I have nothing against him, but he imo is a blind apple fan and given the volume of his work it seems apple can do no wrong.

I choose to get some of my information from more independent and less biased sources.

So far, TechCrunch has the best review
I don't have any favorite review. I think the body of reviews that I've read provide a more complete picture. That is each review may highlight or confirm a given element (positive or negative) and so with each review I read the picture that is painted about the iPhone x gets filled out even more, if that makes sense.

I don't know, I assume he is a little biased because he is an Apple fan, but reading through his review didn't really come off that way. He seems to make clear mention of things he doesn't necessarily love (such as the notch), but that he forgets about it in use. Seems at least somewhat objective to me. Majority of reviews have been pretty positive so far, can't wait for Friday.

I love René to death. He is a very nice guy, and has worked hard to be recognized by Apple. But that work means saying wonderful things. The fact that he calls this the best ... if you call your cat's litter box great, and one day there's a particularly large pile and you call it the best ever.... It just means you really like cat litter box contents.

Right but kind of a "bad cop," "good cop" routine. Besides even he knows it would be ridiculous to suggest the notch is a fantastic design approach. No one loves the notch. It's a compromise. But like everything in life you learn to live with those and move on. Talk of the notch seems a bit overwrought to me as it's been the most visible "flaw" of the X from the start. From a review perspective I'm more interested in actual performance -- calls, data rates, actual usage other than using it as a TV.
