As beautiful as the new iPhone is I actually find the original iPhone to be my favorite in terms of build.
Big Dave said:Speed and 3G are worth the upgrade alone.
1) My contract has unlimited data, enough minutes and enough texts. If I upgrade I pay more and get less. Plus, I risk signing on for two more years with AT&T when there seems to be a chance for an iPhone on another carrier. Not that I think others are any better, but I do think that competition will bring plan pricing down.
2) Although I have 4 Gb, I haven't had any desire for more. I have pages of apps and I have enough music on it for my workout every day. When I want to change it up, I just sync some different tunes. And movies? Tried to watch a movie once. Terrible. I don't see the point. Too small. No need to have them on a phone.
3) "New" features. Ya, I can't send photo texts. How many would I send? Probably none. I only get one every couple months and it's usually just a drunk person making a face. Home screen wallpapers, etc.: who cares. Face time? Don't know enough people with iPhone 4's to make it worth it, although if my lady friend got one I could see the benefit. Others? Why would I want to see you?
I do dig the better camera, the multitasking, and 3G (nope, still on edge), but is it enough?
We (my fiancee and I) have a 2G in the house, we plan on never selling it. EVER.
Waited in line and payed a **** ton of money for it since that was before they realized how low they could go price wise.
While we both will eventually update, she loves her 2G and it does all she requires it to do.
Plus, one day it'll be a relic and worth more money then the iPhone4.
I don't think it'll ever be worth more than the iPhone 4 though.
When all apps stop supporting the 2G then what are you going to do?
I guess what I'm saying is that I don't think most people even use most of the features added since iPhone 1. Am I nuts?
Yeah, why keep the 1956 Corvette when you can upgrade to the much faster, superior 2010 Corvette?
