I don't see the point in going back now that we've had no ports for 5 years. If they'd put TB4 on the iPhone, or at least USB-C I don't think anyone would have minded the lack of MagSafe. Carrying one charger in your backpack, etc would have been nice.

Now? I don't know.. much as I loved MagSafe, the time my cable broke at the end and I had to pay £90 for a replacement, I don't know... Was glad to get away from the proprietary-ness

I don't see the problem with posting the information that's now out there. It's not like it won't be posted everywhere anyway.

If it would already be posted "everywhere" then there's little to no reason to also post it here, right?

The problem with adding to that collection of posts is that it increases pressure on Apple, and therefore serves the goals of the thieves.

So they can face legal prosecution just to leak stuff that has already been leaked, or will be leaked. Dummies...

Considering that Macrumors posts largely the same information as every other Apple centric website anyway that's like saying there should only be one website dedicated to Apple news.

I'd also argue that this amounts to free publicity for Apple and that no damage is being done. This builds hype for the next machines.

They aren’t “siding” with anybody.
MacRumors is reporting on a very newsworthy development

How do you some of you leave the house and get on in this world?
Seriously. Smh
It was a typo.
It is wrong that somebody stole this information and is trying to extort Apple with it.

It is also wrong for anybody to report on the stolen technical details.

Your flippant attitude on such a simple topic makes you look bad.

That’s where we disagree.
You don’t put the genie back in the bottle on stuff like this.

You can say they should not post the technical details, very fair, but reporting on the story is absolutely in bounds and something this site in particular should for sure be talking about.

Seriously… It’s called MacRumors…
Do you think all the rumors we talk about come from completely above board ways and means?

Just because you don’t know about where the information is coming from doesn’t mean it’s coming in a good way. This is the old “how are the sausage is made” situation.

Let us drop the puritanical pretenses here
