anyone know if the leeds/sheffield stores have them?
I'm a student so i'd like to get the student pricing!
I'm another who bought from John Lewis and collected the next day from my local Waitrose. Very quick and painless compared to trying to buy from the company that made it!
Odd. As long as you keep the delivery note (which has a returns reference number on it), postal returns are no problem (via MyHermes courier collection).Unless you need to return it, as John Lewis insisted I had to return it to a physical store.

Are you a uni student? If so getting it via the apple online store from the uni campus would get you educational discount and 3 year hardware warranty.
You'd have to wait a bit longer but I think it's worth it for the additional warranty. Base model is £902 with the discount.

Hi you can also register for Unidays and access the apple educational discount there. I ordered mine that way since I ordered at a weekend and didn't want to wait until I was back at Uni to order.
You'll same discount at an official Apple Store but the likelihood of getting something in stock is slim.
No stock in either London Regent St or Covent Gdn stores this lunchtime. Guys I asked were unable to say when they would get the next delivery in this week, but confirmed they'd had some on Friday but they all sold out.
Unidays is also an option - my wife works at a uni and she can connect via VPN to uni.
Note that whilst you can get a discount via apple retail stores, you don't get the 3 years free hardware warranty by default.
The retail stores normally offer discounted AppleCare - I think it's about £50 which gives you the 3 year hardware warranty and telephone support.
Personally I'd rather have the free hardware warranty as we don't need telephone software support.
You should have popped down to John Lewis on Oxford St. from Regent St., unless you want to buy from Apple.
Not sure if they still have stock though, to be fair.

NUS Extra also do about 15% discount. As long as the in store purchase is done as a HE contract sale (so Uni student or staff) then you get the three year hardware support. The AppleCare sold in store and online for £48 extends the telephone support for the three years.
Git one form Vic Sq Belfast on Sat had several in stock o purchase all combinations except the 1.3 GHz (BTO) model. Space gray 1.2 with 512 GB is a beautiful and fine piece of work - just like an i Pad with wings ! Much nicer though fantastic in all aspects getting around 7 to 8 hrs battery life and improving all the time as I guess OS X is indexing stuff. Wouldn't want it to be am=ny smaller physical size. `just right keyboard, and new mouse easy to use and adapt to - reminds me of the old Sony keyboard on their notebooks about 19=0 yrs ago but better.
Adapters for add ons for sale i store as well but amazon have several options at fraction Apple prices.
No noise no heat

Van you use all these ports at once ? HDMI+charging+USB 3/2 - Apple store guys were not sure !
Yeah but I had to rush back for a 2pm meeting. Might take a trip to John Lewis tomorrow lunch break.
Getting used to the keyboard by chance lol?
The HE agreement with Apple states that it only applies to online purchases as the retail business is a separate legal entity to the online store. If you bought in store I'm not sure how you'd prove it fell under the HE agreement after leaving the store.

Maybe things have changed but definitely same price for AppleCare extension in store so had assumed you get three years hardware (when he was looking at list of education establishments and he chose my uni it said HE agreement whereas others in the list were normal education so lower discount)
uFor all UK residents: Just in case you don't know yet but any 'protection plan' retailers may offer you, is a waste of money because you get up to six years warranty under the UK consumer law for free.
Even Apple acknowledges that:
http://www.apple.com/uk/legal/statutory-warranty/
So unless you are a seasoned world traveler and rely on world wide warranty, spending money on Apple Care is money thrown out of the window.

I believe that the 6 year period is not the length of any warranty but the limitation period, from the date of delivery, for bringing a claim for defective goods (in accordance with the Limitation Act 1980). Otherwise Apple would not refer to 'additional' benefits of purchasing Applecare.
A 6 year warranty period would be an enormous financial burden for any company in this field, even the hugely rich Apple Corporation.
