So glad skeuomorphism disappeared and only wish form factor and price point would too.
Think ya left out at least "paradigm shift" and "deliverable"... I was once going to name my next cat Paradigm Shift but I was afraid to think how the veterinary associates might elect to spell it. Settled for Zantevvi, a completely made up name, and they couldn't get that right either. She became Tevvi. Even I caved in and called her that.

It's a great thing though that one doesn't have to think about what it will sound like to be hollering a cat's name after you take it for a romp in the park, eh?

"Here Paradigm Shift, attaboy, fetch that stick!"

As for skeuomorphism, anyone want to lay bets on what kind of username and avatar Scott Forstall would have?
I like Paradigm Shift as a name! My sister named one of her cats Zoom Pig. 🤷🏼‍♂️

That reminds me of how an academic colleague dismissed another academic colleague as "the sort of guy who lives beyond his intellectual means by calling his cat Schrodinger."

is synergy still a word?
it lasted like, what, a month?
like the stupid "YOLO"

Of course! It's always OK to use in the context above, joke/ironically, in fact, the whole "avatar something-something synergy" has been a staple of online communities for the last two decades. ;)

Now, YOLO, LOL, yeah, we can do without those :D

Especially LOL, do people realize what it stands for, and what that means you're doing? Like at home, alone, cackling out loud? Hahahaha ... hahaha ... heh ... *ahem* ... it's almost __scary__. o_O

In the time before I was born there began an early televisual science fiction series titled "Doctor Who". After a few years of relative success, the lead actor was replaced due to illness by a scruffy method actor by the name of Patrick Troughton. It was during this actor's reign that the term "cosmic hobo" was first coined, probably by some journalist somewhere, in relation to his portrayal of the role of the titular intergalactic time traveller.

In the 1990's after first using my first name @... as my email address, I then adopted the use of cosmichobo@... Soon, most of my online identify followed suit, and eventually also lead to my YouTube channel, although in that case it is thecosmichobo.

My avatar is an "identi-kit" of all of the original actors to play the Doctor.

Patrick Troughton was a brilliant actor and not just in Dr Who.

Lol this is pretty funny. A long time ago (2008 maybe?), I was signing up for Club Penguin as most elementary school kids did, and I tried thinking of a username. Ice Man popped into my head, but Club Penguin said it was already taken and to try Ice Man45575. I did that and ever since I've just been using that for almost everything except for more formal things. It's since evolved to what you see here "iceman45575" when I got a PS3 and I couldn't have a space in my name. I'm now in college and still use it 😂.

Abazigal was the name of a dragon boss in Baldur’s Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal. It wasn’t a very memorable character (just another foe to kill), but the name just kinda stuck for some reason.

I am not very creative with names, so when I need to key something in, I just default to this.

Because chmod 33 makes no sense. Obviously.
I thought it was because 32 other people wanted to be chown!

I’m an Apple fan, 2015 was when I joined here ;)
Pretty much the same for me. Plus it was something we used to say at work to people who loved their Apple products! I was just surprised it wasn’t taken when I joined.

On a different site long long ago, I tried to use the Tigger and it said it was in use, then I tried Tigger1 and Tigger2, etc, till I got to about Tigger8 when I realized I will never remember Tigger8 as my login. So I put in Tigger11 since that's my birth month and it worked, and I've used it here and several other sites over the years, though I think this is the last one I use it on. I use Tigger because I used to talk like Tigger to amuse my baby sister, and then my girlfriends child and my baby cousins and nieces and nephews. I hadn't done it in years, till February 29 when I and a bunch of family got together for my Grandmothers (100th), really 25th birthday (her birthday is leap day). And my grandmother convinced me to sing her happy birthday as Tigger. She said I had done it years before (which I probably had), and she wanted to hear it again. So with a bunch of second cousins who had never met cheering me on, I first did the Tigger song to warm up and we learned all about what parts are made of Rubber and which parts are made of a spring. I then sang her a silly version of happy birthday which included lines about the cake being made of mostly heffalumps with just a little woozle in the frosting for color. So that's a really long version of where my username came from.
