Judging by the OP's silence, I'm guessing that neither strong-arming nor his connections worked.

Big surpirse there. :D

There's no incentive for ATT to be "strong armed" into giving unlimited bandwidth especially since the industry is moving in the opposite direction - metered bandwidth. No matter how much you threaten ATT they'll not bend.

I've been an AT&T cust. since 2005 and got my unlimited data pkg with my iphone in Feb 2009 but as I got my ipad2, I called and tried to get unlimited data for the ipad but really couldn't do anything but ask for them to do that for me since I've been a customer for so long. Well umm, yea, I'll continue to JB and use TetherMe and MyWi.

Well I hope he didn't go crazy and scream at some guy from India just doing his job.

I asked about this too. I've been a loyal customer since 2008 with AT&T. When I got my iPad 2 at BB they decliined to set up the 3G service so instead I did it at home. I had no idea I could add it onto my current bill with AT&T. Now that I do, I wanted to. When I called they explained I now needed a new SIM, head over to the store.. blah, blah. I figured since they were causing an incovince by sending me to the store, I would ask about unlimited data (we have 2 iphones that have it). They couldnt offer it, but did give me a monthly credit of $20 for the next 6 months. I'll take it. It didn't hurt to ask, even though I knew they would say no, I asked and a credit is more then acceptable to me!

Yeah, good luck with that. Hopefully you're 'strong arm' argument is more compelling than the 'I want this, I don't want that and I know a big wig' you shared here...which sounds more like the immature argument of a child not getting their way than a reason why AT&T should treat you differently than they've treated their other customers.

But hey, everybody feels like they should be the exception. Maybe it'll work out for you....

Your.

Duh. (Restatement of the obvious)
