Just checking in with an iPhone stuck in Alaska (well, on it's way to Alaska, supposedly).

I'm cautiously optimistic though that the FedEx tracking data is just not accurate at the moment. Apple even went so far as to point that out in their June 23rd delivery email. We'll see tomorrow morning though I suppose.

That might help explain all our different "in transit" Alaska times. Possible different planes??

Probably. The phones are all probably on different palettes which were unloaded/loaded at different times and scanned at different times. It's gotta be some sort of minor glitch in the system. We'll find out soon enough.

I got...

Jun 21, 2010 1:25 PM
In transit
ANCHORAGE, AK
Package available for clearance

I live in Hawaii.

I was tracking two Fedex flights going from Alaska to Indianapolis International Airport.

According to Flight Tracker Pro on my iPhone, FedEx 14 was diverted and it looks to have landed in West Lafayette, Indiana at Purdue University Airport. The weather was really bad last night, so that doesn't surprise me.

The other plane, Fedex 22 landed in Indianapolis. I think my phone is on either plane. Fedex tracking info still says it's in Alaska though. I just think because of that diversion, it hasn't been updated yet.

That would explain a lot. I'm in the Indy area so my "In Transit" at Anchorage makes some sense now. Hopefully it will update soon. If not, I've had luck with other shipments with sticky tracking info just calling up FedEx since their information is updated in real time.

Mine LEFT Alaska yesterday afternoon, but never showed up anywhere else. I haven't heard of a plane crash though so I assume everything is on schedule. I hope mine didn't "fall of the 'plane'".. lol

Same thing for me! Hoping it gets updated later today :)

I'm OCD about this phone so this thread is perfect... thanks for the group therapy.

My phone is not only stuck in Alaska, but the delivery estimate still says the 24th and a I received the '23rd' email.

In all honesty, it is the 'being there when it is delivered' moment that I cherish... that instant satisfaction of receiving the package...the 'technology' smell when you first open it up...

The fact that I moved my day at home till the 23rd also plays a role in my anxiousness.

For those that are in the Chicago area, I'm with you in anxiety!

I hear you. I rescheduled my day off to tomorrow as well. It's easy enough to change back if I need to though, but I'd obviously rather not.

Seriously, I was content with getting it next Monday when I return from vacation...then the email...now I'm lik OMG OMG OMG

I got 1 in a AK and 1 in NJ. Got email from Apple for both stating it will be delivered tomorrow. I wouldn't fret just yet, I imagine they have so many that maybe they are not updating the tracking information quick enough. Remember Apple's email stated...

This email is to confirm that your delivery will occur on June 23rd. Although Apple and FedEx tracking information may currently indicate a later date, you can check the FedEx website the morning of the June 23rd to track your package to your doorstep.

Been in Alaska for about 24 hours now, still there, headed (by mule train I'm guessing) to Saint Paul, MN

I highly doubt anyone's phone is still in Alaska, unless you actually live there.

Are they both shipped the same way? The economy ones seemed to get updated after anchorage where the ip direct haven't.

I got tired of waiting and called FedEx. They said my phone would be leaving Alaska tonight. They said it had to clear customs and he saw no reason I would not get my phone tomorrow (as my tracking number has always said on Jun 23rd by 10:30 AM).

So maybe I can relax a little... :)

That's a good point, mine was sent via IP Direct and hasn't been updated as you mentioned.

I would hope everyone's phone is already out of Alaska. It shouldn't take an entire day to clear customs. I'd assume the FedEx guy was just trying to seem reasonable with you?

Where are you located.

And FYI for others, mine says economy and still shows in transit Anchorage.

Mine's Economy and no update. 24th date for me too

Both are pre-ordered from Apple. The one showing stuck in AK is the one that FedEx shows as Estimated Delivery of June 23. The one in NJ has Estimated Delivery of June 24. I still believe that both will be here tomorrow.

My first ordered phone is in Oakland, got there with the rest of them.

My second phone that I ordered 6 hours after, is in Alaska.
