I've been stuck in"preparing to ship" since sometime Friday night. The wait is agonizing to say the least. I feel like a 5 year old waiting for Christmas.

I talked to apple, and they said my order is stateside and "won't ship until 48 hours before the delivery date." It's going to be a long week.

I ordered on day of announcement around 5PM, white 32GB wifi. It changed from "processing" to preparing for shipment on Friday, and yesterday I received the ship notification via Fedex. It was already sitting at the Fedex warehouse in PA. It seems those who ordered engraving get theirs shipped from China, while those without engraving theirs are already sitting in some warehouse in USA, would make sense. If your order says delivers on the 16th, I'm sure it'll be there Friday.

Quickly went to "Prepared for shipment" on 3/9.

Stayed there until Today... 3/12... an hour ago.

Now "SHIPPED."

Mine is stuck in the preparing for shipment status right now, but I put my phone number that I used on the order in the track by reference box on fedex.com, and it shows that it shipped on Sunday. So maybe try that if you're stuck in that status to see if it shipped yet, apples system must not be updating

mines showing prepared for shipment since friday. I'm not worried, I never had any issues with missed preorders. As long as it shows out for delivery come friday, I'll be happy.
