Mine doesn't say anything, but I need to order...I'm wondering what would happen if I just went ahead and ordered?

Is your status still listed as "Pending"? You've faxed in your schedule, passport, and ID?

If so, tomorrow morning, just call ADC (800-633-2152) to confirm that your fax was received, and hopefully you'll be verified immediately. The ADC rep that I've talked with was very friendly and helpful.

Under History it says:

Asset Name Tracking Number Used on
ADC Student Membership (Pending) XXXXXXXXXX 21 Oct 08

Under Assets it says:

Asset Name Quantity Expires on Transfer
ADC Mailing - Student 1 21 Oct 2009
ADC Student Membership 1 21 Oct 2009

Hi,
I faxed in everything on Saturday - you think they work on the weekend?
and if I order via the store tomorrow, how long will it take?
can't wait... my current Model is the PB Titanium 500MHz, so you will understand my agony.....
(at least for e the design difference is not that big - black keyboard=black keyboard... )

so I want to clarify something:

If I want an ADC discount I just have to sign up the membership and then buy the camera when I get approved.

Also I do not need any computer related courses to be approved right? All I have to check is "hobbist" and then I'm all good to go?

If this is good then I'll place my ADC membership asap for my new MBP!

You want to buy a camera with your ADC discount?;)

No, you don't need any computer related courses to get approved, just have to be enrolled. I am in medical school and was approved. It may take about a day to get your membership activated so you can make your hardware purchase.

I'm a nursing student, but I sent them my timetable and everything a week or two ago and I haven't gotten a thing back from them. I got that email, but it still says pending.

Did you get this email?

The Apple Developer Connection has transferred the following item(s) to you:

ADC Mailing - Student
Student Orientation Kit
ADC Student Membership

The next time you log into the Apple Developer Connection web site
(http://connect.apple.com) you should see the item(s) above.

If you have any questions or we can be of further assistance with any
aspect of your program membership, please contact us at
http://developer.apple.com/contact/programs.html

If so then you should be all set to order. In my History page it still says ADC Student Membership (Pending) but my order went through and my MBP is on its way from China. Others have already suggested that you just call them and ask, so that is what I would do if you still have any doubts.

Yeah I'm not worrying about it. I'm actually going to be buying from Best Buy, because there isn't an Apple Store within 5 hours of me, and I'm afraid of having a defect, and not really having any option but to deal with it.

I'll save the ADC discount for now...perhaps for the next upgrade in Summer '09...

Well, good luck then. Doesn't make much sense to pay $100 then buy the computer for retail but ok:confused: Best Buy will do everything in their power to not help you if you ever have a problem.

Thanks for making this thread, I cancelled my HE order on a fully loaded 15" MBP and it saved me £500 on the retail price. I can't wait to get it now.

Hey guys,

How long does it take to receive an activation code via email? I purchased the ADC student membership earlier today and have not yet received a code. I only have an "Apple Store Order Acknowledgement" email, and there is nothing new under History in the ACD membership website.

Thanks in advance!

i was just wondering, is this only online? can i go to the apple store do this at the genius bar and buy my laptop on the same day?

Hey everyone, I'm new here. Thinking about purchasing my first Mac and was gonna use the ADC discount. I'm a marketing major, no computer courses and a senior. Will I have any problems getting approved for the program? Been holding off cause I wasn't sure. Thanks in advance :)

I'm a nursing student with no computer courses, and I was approved without a problem. So you should be fine.
