A new episode aired here last evening and it was fantastic. Americans will be able to see it tonight I believe. It was super episode, it departs quite a bit from what we've seen in past episodes in terms of content shot within the studio. It's different, but its great.

I don't see this show lasting much longer, It started good but has slowed down. I don't see it being able to pick up new viewers.

the last episode I watched was the one with Eli Wallach, the blacklisted writer guy. I found myself smirking at the faux gravitas attached to some guy who was unable realize his dream of writing for a television comedy show. I'd have bought that kind of thing if it was the West Wing and they were talking about being President of Algeria or something, but come on...television?

I was thinking yesterday how much more interesting this show would be if it were a behind the scenes look at a news program, like Dateline or 20/20. It's hard to take entertainment that's about entertainment very seriously.

You're missing the point, I'm afraid.

We're already watching the show. You're preaching to the choir here.

You want to save "Studio 60?" Round up about 2-5 million viewers and get them to watch.

Yes, I realize that wer're already watching the show. Yes, I am trying to save "Studio 60." Yes, I do realize that the show needs to attract millions more viewers.

I'm not "preaching to the choir." I'm just saying why I think it will not be cancelled, and hoping that people who don't watch the show are reading this thread and tuning in for the next episode.

If you really care about the show, then would it be so hard to start a conversation about it at work? School? Church? Word of mouth is still the best way to generate buzz.

Ah, I see. It's our fault -- and mine -- that "Studio 60" is on the bubble.

Sorry, I don't ram shows down other people's throats, just like I don't take kindly when people do the same to me. If people are interested then they'll watch. I read an article on "Studio 60" on the plane several months ago; that's how I learned about it and decided to watch. Damn me, I guess I don't care about the show. :(

Anyone else besides me see the irony in the fictional show "Nations" being developed inside "Studio 60" and the commentary on how "Nations" is expected to perform versus the reality of "Studio 60" in the ratings? I think it's pretty funny.

Oh, and last night's episode was awesome. I laughed so hard at the "assassins" comment. :)

That's not what I was trying to say at all, but I can see how it may come across as that. I apologize for trying to cram the show down your throat.

Another great episode last night. Enjoyed seeing John Goodman. I thought he was a bit over the top with his character on "The West Wing," but he did a great job on "Studio 60."

haven't been able to download new episode on itunes. It's not there. Bad sign.

Sad...considering they've trash it and are replacing it with one of the following:

1) the Bionic Woman remake. The only good that can come out of that is that Lindsey Wagner can retire in 20 years when Michelle Ryan can start pushing Ford Aerostars and junk on infomercials.

2) A Sex and the City rehash.

3) Another wrongly accused criminal detective show.

4) The Office, but set in the IT dept.

5) A Heroes spin-off (well, OK. I'll watch it), but on the other hand it seems a little early. Let's focus on keeping the original show fresh and on track for a season or two.

Oh...and they kept the football show. Hint to NBC, put Friday Night Lights on FRIDAYS. That's the only way people are going to remember when the **** it is.

Why get rid of Crossing Jordan, that is a good show. No wonder NBC is failing. I see Heroes as a one season wonder kinda like Lost. I don't see how far they can take it.

I think NBC will fall even farther down next season.

'Heroes' is much more a combination of LOST[i/] and 24. It has the 12 (or so) central characters and each season will follow a single story-arch, so you don't get the same problems LOST is seeing with new mystery after new mystery and little resolution.

I think 'Heroes' has potential to be an excellent show for a number of seasons as long as each season has an engaging story (the characters are certainly interesting enough for numerous seasons, IMO).

But will the writers be able to keep up. Lost and 24 are both having problems in that regard and Heroes might fall into that same trap.

Crossing Jordan, while a good show, doesn't get the ratings. It's not like NBC has been very nice to the show either, starting it midseason for many years, moving it from night to night, ...

I am surprised though that they didn't keep it over the original Law and Order, or shift it over to USA as they did with L&O CI. Tim Kring should have some political capital with Heroes being their one success.

Maybe they should hire Joss Whedon. He's always good in a pinch, and knows a thing or two about running a TV show. :p

I think Heroes has longer legs than Lost, if they keep they writing/plotlines fresh. Superhero comic books/movies/shows are popular for a reason, most of them have a sort of universal resonance, whereas I'm not sure that's the same with the Lost characters.

Which would you rather be, a cool person with powers or a plane crash survivor?

NBC could shop Crossing Jordan to another network. I can see the audience following.

Of course, but that's true of just about anything. So far, Heroes has been proven to be very well written and engaging. I think they can continue "the magic," if their writers can continue delivering the way they have so far.

The nice thing about a Heroes-like world is that you can do all kinds of things with "superheroes" that you can't do with someone like Jack Bauer or in a world like LOST where the writers have said that everything can be explained scientifically. Not being bound by that kind of thing provides the writers an almost infinite amount of story lines (particularly when one of your main characters, well, two if you count Peter, can bend space/time).

I think this thread needs a spin off as more networks will be announcing their fall schedules in the coming weeks.
