This doesn't seem logical. Mine updated on an 14" MacBook Pro as usual a week or two ago.Could it be an Apple Silicon vs Intel issue?

I do not have another Mac to hook it to. The only other macs in the house are 12 years old or older. I guess I could get an adapter to hook up my 2011 MBP but not sure the old os would even fetch the firmware update.Trigger update after connecting to different Mac. ( first I tried with MacBook Pro 13 m1 and it failed, Then I tried with my iMac 2020 and it succeeded )
Yes. That’s what this whole thread is about. Several of us are having this issue.Hi,
Is anyone having issues updating their Studio Display? I get this message when trying to update.

That doesn’t seem logical considering the display was basically made for the new studio being Apple silicon.Could it be an Apple Silicon vs Intel issue?
I merged that post in from another thread, hence it looks a bit out of place.Yes. That’s what this whole thread is about. Several of us are having this issue.

Yes I get that but many were able to instal this in the past couple of weeks from both formats.Agree, however the only poster who has successfully updated, did it from an Intel based Mac.

I’m on 12.3.1 but it didn’t work on 12.3 either. 12.4 is still beta. I’m assuming others updated it with 12.3?12.3.1 or 12.4?

Yes!I went to the Apple store today, they tried all the mac with silicon chip ,none of them works.
Isn’t the problem that this display runs iOS?
iOS 15.4 is no longer being signed by Apple. Which means you can’t download that version.
The Studio Display is not currently getting iOS 15.4.1 for whatever reason, so I’m assuming it’s stuck for the time being until Apple pushes a new version to it.
