Even GM's can be changed...

Actually it does matter if you intend to sue anybody over a version which you are not supposed to install unless you are a developer, which implies you can expect some issues.

Besides that most complaints can be solved by resetting all settings, or are related to slower devices. Some are genuine bugs which need to be addressed by apple, which i'm sure they will.

If you don't like 7 just go back to 6 and stay there or wait for a 'better' 7 version.
At this point this is the released version since it already has to be loaded into new 5C and 5S phones.

A lot of these animation items are actually not related to the install or settings or performance, but to the simple fact that Apple made animations longer in iOS 7 pretty much for the looks of it all (at the cost of some usability/productivity).

As for suing, the OP makes it pretty clear that it's not what it's going for.

Except for you still don't understand what a firmware is.. and it's not what you think it is.. /sigh google is your friend btw! and if you can actually understand and read properly, you would see that the OP was being sarcastic, and his opening line clearly states: OK, no one is suing over animations, that's just dumb.

TL;DR - you still have no clue what a firmware is and you lack reading comprehension

Good for you!

Now let's get back to business.

Would be seriously awesome. Someone needs to find a code that enables the super secret config menu where the animations can be tweaked.

----------

The animations in the video are at least 3x as fast. Time it. In the first one, when it unlocks, the icons shoot in like they are on fire. On the current GM, they just kind of meander in lazily. The folder and app launch animations are also 3x faster in the video. Getting into the apps is instant in the vid. In the GM, it takes much longer.

I measured mine with a super high speed camera and my 5 matches the commercial almost exactly. My 5 is actually .034 seconds faster than the commercial.

My animations seem to be fine, same as the video. Obviously I did not time it and I won't, but it is by no means "slow".

Nope

Also it's not just the unlock but opening folders and apps. In the video it's instant.

When the apps fly in in the video the cadence is kind of like this

BaBam (done)

On the GM it's more like

BamBamBamBam (done)

Does that make more sense?

But not as fast or essentially "snappy" (which is actually fitting in this context, despite the overuse of the word in the Apple universe) as in iOS 6.

Exactly. I'm not tweaking my toaster or my washing machine and in the very same way, a good phone should work. I probably agree on the faster animations but haven't tried it out myself yet to tell you if you are wrong.

Awful comparisons. Toasters and washing machines are single-purpose devices. By your logic, iPhone should only make phone calls.

The very reason why "Settings" app exists already proves your theory wrong. The ability to speed up animations would mean better usability for me, just as making the fonts bold(er), like the option in iOS 7, would mean better usability for people with poor eyesight.
