Wow. If it rains, it might favor the Bears and their running game.

Both teams have had games where their teams just didn't show up.

I am still wondering why they had to go all the way to Flordia to play this one. We could have split the difference and played at Notre Dame or Purdue! But come to think of it, 65 and rain beats 7, high wind, and snow.

As a bears fan I totally favor either of those sites ...

Peyton weather thats below 0- with windchill. Genius or not thats going to put a damper on the passing game. Actually that would neutralize the kicking game too ... we'd see vinateri miss his first superbowl kick ...

but thats neither here nor there.

How could anyone hate Peyton Manning. He is the classic "Good Guy". Unless ofcourse you are a bears fan. Peyton Manning is what every athlete should be. He is what a role model should be. I admire him for the way he prepares himself. I wish I had his discipline.

Here in SW Michigan it's hard to choose. I'm about 100 miles from both Chicago and Indianapolis and I'm originally from Portland, OR.... So not really sure who I'm rooting for since I don't have attachment to either team.

Anyways, I, too, think Grossman is a joke and don't want to see him win. I don't want to Peyton win either, but he at least has talent. I think Urlacher might be the deciding factor here...

as a Bears fan, i don't like Grossman at all. but i'm happy for Urlacher for sure. hes going to go out there 200% and give Manning a lot of trouble.

this is going to be a game of the Bears D against the Colts Offense.

Bears?? Who cares? How many Bears are even from Chicago? It's only a game - get a life folks.

don't like the thread, don't post in it.

I hate the Bears and hate Payton Manning. So, best thing that can happen is a tie. But that won't happen so then I have to go down to who's the QB I could stand the most being fawned over the next year: Manning or Grossman.

After much soul searching, I concluded that Manning is a decent QB vs. that total joke of a QB Grossman.

Go Indy. Just so the Bears don't win.
Well that is the popular pick amongst the "experts"

I don't know if a QB who threw for 3,193 yards, 23 TDs and significantly helped the Bears cruise to the playoffs/superbowl is a joke....yeah Rex had a few poor games but you have to put in consideration that this is his first complete full season as a starter.....

But yeah, you're absolutely right... he's a joke

[EDIT]

and the same goes for you too

Not true. He missed 2 in the Superbowl against the Panthers, a 31 yarder and a 36 yarder(which was blocked). So he is human.

One thing I don't understand is how people say Rex rode the defense and running game to the Superbowl. The Bears averaged 27 points a game and had 14 rushing touchdowns compared to 23 passing. When you factor in that the Bears are supposed to be a running team first (which I haven't really believed until the past few weeks), and the fact in most of the games during the regular season they were up big and ran the rest of the game it's hard to say Rex rode anybody when the Bears had 9 more touchdowns in the air then on the ground. Also, I can't remember any time recently when the Bears had 3 receivers with at least 625 yards and 5 touchdowns each.

Did the defense play a big role in them being 13-3 in the regular season? Hell yeah, with the cardinals game being an excellent example. But if you look at games like the Tampa Bay game when the defense couldn't stop a 3rd string quarterback and needed the offense to step up and get in field goal range for 2 game winning kicks it was Rex throwing the ball down field. So for anyone to say that Rex rode the rest of the Bears team to the Superbowl is just an ignorant statement.

I don't understand how people want to hate on Rex when he's in his first full season of starting and he is the starting quarterback in the Superbowl when only 1 other quarterback in team history has been able to do that. He hasn't been perfect all season, but with 7 games with at least a 100 quarterback rating (which lead the league, he also had a game with a 98), he showed that he's more then capable of putting up big numbers. People will always remember the 0.0 and 1.3 ratings he had, but the fact of the matter he's done everything that's been needed of him to get to this point and made big plays in the playoffs when they needed him to.

Carlton Draught
This is by far one of my favorite brews.
But no Australian would ever let that devil's brew Fosters (which nobody even sells let alone drinks) pass their lips. Fosters is for the Poms and the Yanks.
I love it when people think Fosters is only Aussie beer.

And I am not a Bears fan but I certainly hope they win. It's time.

I don't understand how people want to hate on Rex...

i concede and agree with all your points, but thats not why i dislike him. i dislike his attitude and unprofessionalism at times. i agree that he has been an essential part in getting the bears to where they are, but he could use a lesson in manners too.

Well it's hard to keep a great attitude when every week you get mauled by the media with negative questions...

He's a confident young QB that has been through more scrutiny and injuries then most QBs due in there whole careers...give the kid a break

if it rains i don't think it will cause that much of a problem. The field in the stadium has high tech drainage systems so it shouldnt be that wet. But the Bears will go to their running game if it does and the Colts should have trouble using wet balls since they're home stadium is indoors.

i just dont like his attitude, comments like the New Years Eve game "i wasn't totally there with it being New Years Eve" or some such are just not right. learn to control your comments is all. i have hope for him, but hes rubbed me the wrong way a few times

allison.

This morning on ESPN Radio they interviewed Brandon Lang of Two for The Money (Matthew McConaughey, Al Pacino). He's 14-0-2 in the last 16 Super Bowls (2 games pushed with the spread). He predicts the Colts will win 31-13. Says the passing game of the Colts will be too much for the Bears. We'll see :D

[EDIT]Guess he's back in business. Just found this!

In 11 superbowls one team has given up 50 or more FEWER points for the season then the other. In those 11 superbowls the team that has given up 50+ FEWER points is 11 and 0.
The Bears have given up 105 FEWER points then the colts this year.

Bears

No way Bears win. They're in the easiest division in the league, hence their good record.

The Bears are the worst team to play in the Superbowl, since the Giants lost to the Ravens.

There are too many experts picking Indianapolis, and many convinced that Rex is a joke. There are many who think Chicago's had an easy schedule to get to where they are. I like those odds as a nice set up for a Bears D to growl, tomorrow. Old skool, ya, but D's win the big ones, and I think whoever's D and special teams do it tomorrow will win. Go Cheecago!. :)

you sure about that? there was an indecent in june of 2005 involving bad rain crews and tarp. the result was the grass got real wet and unplayable for baseball. so i question a bit of the drainage system as the best.

I suppose I will watch it as I end up doing most years. Usually just to watch, become frustrated over and belittle such a slow sport. Generally I get bored waiting 10minutes for a 30sec piece of action.

And they dont screen the ads in NZ. Stupid ESPN.

Im gonna get spanked from all the Americans for trolling aren't I?
Yes you are.
