Wrong....

i know you're looking for an excuse for a steelers win, but the truly great teams overcome bad reffing. just look at the steelers win vs. the colts in the playoffs. the one play that everyone talks about is the polamalu interception that was incorrectly overturned, but there was a play earlier when a steelers receiver (crap, i'm forgetting who) was absolutely leveled before the ball arrived. no call, and the steelers, on their way to a score, had to punt.saunders45 said:The officials led the Steelers more than Roethlisberger did.

While I totally believe that winning is the only thing that matters, I'd still have to say that Don actually looked slightly more impressive in his lost then Ben in his win. Check out the stats:quigleybc said:Average is a lot better than McNabb looked last year...
You're kidding, right? He has some great plays, but overall he played a terrible game by any standards. For every bad thing Ben did, he did an equally good thing, I would say he broke even on his performance.
OK, take away the picks and maybe he played a decent game. Hell, while we are at it, let's add 5 TD to his stats.Running for first downs, throwing for first downs..take away the picks, and he played a good game.
The first correct thing you said. Winning is everything when it comes to sports. It was not the Steelers best game by any means...but no one will remember the picks, or the calls, they will remember the W..
He is a good player. I don't know why you say he gets no recognition. Many people put him as one of the top 5 current WRs. But...he did hold out. Isn't that considered complaining?1. Hines Ward as MVP choked me up, because that guy has been coming out year after year and doing his job at a high level, with little or no recognition. on a run first team, he never complains, he just makes plays. So for Ward, I am estatic.
You are right, they shouldn't be. Too bad they where . . .7. Pittsburgh won this game on big plays, sparked by execution...I don't want to hear about the refs, because they shouldn't be a factor...

Hines ward has nothing to do with TO. You said Ward never complained. Holding out (even if he did return) is the ultimate form of complaining.quigleybc said:Hines held out so he would get paid....I am surprised, after T.O you would even bring that up...
No doubt about it. I'm just curious how many they will win. But what does this have to do with the topic at hand? You are getting pretty defensive. You keep bringing up the Eagles over and over. I can't figure out why anyone who's team just won the SB is so concerned with the Eagles who didn't even make the playoffs.Don't cry....your Eagles will win a few games next year...
Actually, it was the 3 picks that really did him in. They had a chance to win until McNabb threw his last interception with about 40 seconds left. 51 attempt really had nothing to do with it. But as a football fan, you probably already knew that.and looking at those stats for Don...I can't believe he attempted 51 passes....no wonder they lost...
