Apple has said all along that orders are processing based on time and location. Perhaps they are focusing on the area he lives in today and there were not that many people who ordered from his area.

That means that orders... in Texas... placed 17 days after the launch... are somehow getting shipped even though there are likely tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands unshipped orders throughout the rest of the US for this particular model alone?

I find it hard to believe that there were so few 42mm SG orders in Texas that this one region magically has an abundance of watches.

No, if this is true (for the OP's sake I hope it is, lucky!), it's sheer incompetence.

Once I get it in, I'll send in a pic with watch and all.

Once it is actually in UPS's hands, I'll alert them of a mistake.

For the record, I believe you OP. And I am genuinely happy for you :)

Just super angry at Apple ;)

Oh, I know. I had similar stuff happen when I had ordered a 4 back in 2010. I pre-ordered first chance I could, and something screwed up and I didn't get it until 3 weeks after launch, while all my friends were just going to AT&T whenever they wanted to pick it up.

That's the model I ordered on 4/10 as well, and I am still waiting.

That being said, I would wait until it's actually in your hands before you tell them, otherwise they may have UPS send it back to them.

Good call. Will do.

I ordered on the 21st so hopefully that bodes well for me and other people who ordered around the same time.

I'm a developer, and while I didn't get chosen for the chance for developers to get one shipped quickly, maybe that's the reason?

well maybe this means they catching up with demand maybe more status updates coming to everyone else very soon

I also texas central time

where in texas exactly

I think this is exactly what is happening.

For the Apple Watch, to really take off, Apple needs - NEEDS - to be able sell it in their stores. They need to have customers willing to buy it, then and there - being able to take their purchase home and enjoy immediate gratification. The long shipping times do them no favors, as many customers may hesitate to spend money, on the spot - for something that seems so distant. Apple surely needs to get the production closer to order, so they are then freed up for store sales.

There would be a poopstorm flurry, if Apple began to sell the watch in stores, while pre-existing orders are still 4-6 weeks out. That'd anger many who ordered, as it would imply Apple is diverting stock, to stores and shafting customers who'd ordered in good faith, long before - with a distant shipping time.

They need to catch up, sure wanting to - so they can prepare for mass adoption.

So... "catching up" somehow equates to "skipping 17 days of unfulfilled preorders" now?

No, because it's also probably based on region.

There are 3 major facilities for distribution (2 being Ontario, California and Louisville, Kentucky). There may not be a TON of orders for SG in that region, or they'd been earlier orders, which were delivered - so, he was moved up because of logistics.

My 38 ML will come from whatever and whenever the Ontario center receives enough, for Apple to move it to me - within the list of outstanding 38 ML's, in my region. I may get mine sooner than someone in VA, or later than - depending on what is shipped for distribution.
This is all speculation, btw - but it makes sense.

No, it doesn't make sense. I'm sorry, but it is extremely, extremely difficult to believe that one region within the US is 17 days ahead of everyone else.

Hey all,

Been lurking for a while stressing like the rest of you but made an account just for this. My order time is XX:09:30 on April 10th. I ordered a 42mm Space Gray with 5/13 - 5/27 (4-6 week) estimate. I am in the same exact region as OP, relatively close to his/her description of where they live, and am still stuck on processing with no charge.

I don't necessarily think OP is lying. It's quite possible this just an anomaly, but it's not a sign of being "caught up" unfortunately.

On the sg thread someone posted that a "source" told him they added a "ghost line". Basically another assembly line to help clear the back log. He was under the impression that it would clear a lot of SG out of their system. Maybe this is a sign that is true?

What country are you in? Need to remember that while there may be no stock in the UK, US, Australia, etc it doesn't mean that the SG is also out of stock in your country.

If you are in a country that has limited stock then I dunno, you just got really damn lucky!

The OP has indicated in another post in this thread he's located in Texas.

Guys I would take these kind of posts with a grain of salt. The full story will never be known and it is not worth stressing over. In 4 weeks this will all be a distant thought in all of our heads.

I have to say that I am skeptical of the OP. I don't go around just calling people liars, but there are two things that make me skeptical here. And both come from looking at the image attached showing the order...

First, I looked at the distance between "Ordered On" and "Order Number". In the image provided, there are only 9 pixels separating them. On my image, there are 11 pixels separating them. Other images I have found that people have posted also have 11 pixels separating them. Now, perhaps this was just due to scaling the image...however, the height of the text "Order Number" is 9 pixels in both images. That suggests to me that the "Ordered On" was modified and pasted in to the image, 2 pixels too close to "Order Number". That alone wouldn't be enough to make me too skeptical...as images can get distorted. However......

Second, I noticed the "1" in the year "2015". On my order shows a san-serif font for the date...the "1" does not have a "foot" at the bottom. It is just a line that ends. But in the OP image, the "1" appears to be a serif font and has a "foot" at the bottom. I rather doubt that Apple changed the font of their order confirmations between April 10 and April 27. The "2" and the "5" also look distinctly different as well.

Again, I'm not gonna say the OP is flat out lying...but these subtle things certainly raise reasonable doubt in my mind. Particularly in a world where digital manipulation is so easy...

I included my order page for comparison. In particular, note the "1" in both "April 10" and "2015".
