Anything else is a waste of your readers' time and serves only to polarize.
It's pretty clear this poll was commiissioned as a pre-release marketing strategy.

You hire an "independent" survey company, you tell them why you are commissioning the survey and the results you would be happy with, they tailor the survey to suit, as they are providing a service to you, their customer.

In this case "independent" doesn't mean "objective", it just means "third party".

I mean, the results of the survey are released immediately before the new iPhone 17s are released. It's not a coincidence.

So is 2,000 US-only based users, to be fair.
The OP, ifishishh, said this:

Out of 10 friends not one was even aware of the new phone let alone plan to upgrade… Apple has fell from grace and the disparity gets wider each year. Siri is a joke and prices are expected to rise with Trump in office. Let’s face it Apple has lost is appeal. Only thing keeping it up is the monolithic hold it has from legacy products and brand loyalty. Newer customers are less likely to join as competition ups the ante

Thus the claim that the OPS sample size was small to be making such broad sweeping generalizations regarding Apple's customer base, which probably is entirely the opposite of what will happen.

All you're saying is that neither survey is useful.

iPhone SE > iPhone Air. The perfect upgrade cycle.

Weight, it is all about weight at this point. Features are just upgrades. Battery life, is as easy as a card thin battery pack. Why hold that larger battery pack when you have no need too.

“When asked which company leads in AI, 44% named Apple, while both Samsung and Google were selected by 6.6% of respondents. Ten percent of users said no brand currently leads in the AI space.”

This has pretty much nullified all the other statistics of this study for me.
It does make you wonder about the validity. The follow up question was “will the sun rise tomorrow?”. 80% said yes if Tim Cook says it will

Your 10 friends are unaware of a phone that hasn’t been released? That makes perfect sense.

Your post could have done without that statement.

110% of statistics only correct about 69% of the time, and of that, it’s only accurate about 20% of the time.

I was hoping that 3.3% of the respondents would say they were holding out for a smaller phone. :p

I'm genuinely shocked that 44% of respondents think Apple is ahead in AI, and only 6% think Google is. I guess good marketing has its advantages.

All those people, the 70%, are obviously not following macrumors, cause if they did, they'd know it's not going to be a real upgrade :p
MacRumors is nothing close to a representative sample.

It is a beacon for those who use this place as a means to criticize Apple policy or products, as well as one for those who choose to defend them. Outliers on both sides of the curve.

I don't know if the survey is statistically sound at the end, but it can be done with 2,000 users if done well.

i’ll be upgrading later this month. from a 13 mini to a 15 pro.
I went duel for a while and then my 13 mini got water damage. Really like the always on display, promotion, USB-C, faster charging, Live updates, action button, better cameras of the 15 Pro but really really miss the size and the one handed operation of the 13 mini. Shame we never got a "Pro" mini. I put my 12 mini back in operation, but the battery is pretty shot so not using it as much.
