I thought there may be some other reason for paying for an unlock.

So it that is the case with the OP I have no sympathy. You got ripped off while doing something you shouldn't be doing. Let me find my tiny violin and start playing it.

i had a lot of respect for this guy after he unlocked 4 iphones for me using his premium service for $45. But since i submitted the last iPhone on 30th december he has not unlocked it upto today. i have sent him emails after every one week but he never responds. The last email he responded he said it will clear by end the week that was on January 9 2015. My cousin thinks i duped him by telling him i will unlock his phone and now demands a refund. I looking for an advice how i can get this guy to refund the $45.
1)He never replies emails in time
2)He gives empty promises like it will clear in 1 day
3)Has not kept his end of the deal( premium service is 1-7 days) but this one has taken more than 21 days

Please guys keep off this guy he will make you loose your business if you plan to unock many phones.

Advice how i can get him to refund i paid $45 via paypall
If you are trying to unlock an AT&T iPhone, people are having success on their own through the AT&T site even when the phones are on contract or financed by NEXT.

I got 2 iP5s unlocked and both are on contract.

Unfortunately, your unlock request was denied because:

You have not completed all the payments for your device according to your AT&T Next service agreement. That was the message i got when i submitted the IMEI for unlock on AT&T site

Did you just try it now? How many times did you try it? Did you read the thread I linked to? I got denials then had success selecting the Prepaid/GoPhone option after 2 tries. Others had 2 denials and then a success selecting Current Customer.

Read the thread I linked to.

i will give it a try, i wish i new this my cousin had visited us from abroad and now she is back so i she doesn't need to unlock it since she is using it with AT&T already. Thanks though i will tell her to try again using the Prepaid /Go phone options and see if it works

The solution is obvious. Pay off your Next agreement and AT&T will unlock it for free. It will save you money over the long run. Makes no sense to continue to finance your phone and then pay someone to unlock it.

Ah, jumping through hoops trying to get your iPhone unlocked. Fortunately those of us on Verizon no longer have this concern.

yes, there is an issue ...

got an email from them for unlock request for IP 5S which is failed. said there is a global server issue on OLDER MODELS of iphone from AT&T. 2 weeks ago still able to get unlock for IP 6 & 6+ ATT.

Similar situation, I purchased the "premier service" for SwiftUnlocks for iPhone6 ($25). I never heard anything from them. After patiently waiting for 3 days, I emailed them politely to check for the unlock status. Never got a response back.

I filed a dispute with PayPal. Immediately, I got a "generic response" from them saying they need more time. Response email was rude, not professional for a business. They haven't refund my money yet. I am waiting for 7 days to file a Claim with PayPal.

Other users, do NOT use "SwiftUnlocks". If your phone is under contract with AT&T, they cannot unlock it for you. Period. Do not waste time with SwiftUnlocks. Unprofessional, disservice, and don't honor what they advertise.

I did not manage to unlock that specific iPhone with them but unlocked another phone locked to Bell Canada,as much as they tried to tell me the service is down, they could have refunded the money instantly for me to look for other options. Their response time is the worst.

To all:

I am just a customer who tried to unlock my iPhone6. I purchased "premier service" with SwiftUnlocks. This site is a scam. No response whatsoever after 3 days from the date I purchased their service. Opened a dispute in PayPal, got response with "promise to refund", yet no refund was processed. As soon as I can file a CLAIM with PayPal (you have to wait a few days) I will do that immediately...

Bad service, unprofessional, total NOT recommend at all.

All, I am not another Unlocking service who tried to post negative post about SwiftUnlocks. I am just a customer that experienced. I just want to warn you all so you can beware of SWIFTUNLOCKS

FYI:
http://www.geekwire.com/2015/att-su...id-to-unlock-hundreds-of-thousands-of-phones/

AT&T has filed suit against former employees alleged to have been paid tens of thousands of dollars to install malware on company computers to help “hundreds of thousands” of AT&T customers unlock their smartphones without permission.

California-based Swift Unlocks, which allegedly orchestrated the scheme and in turn sold the illicit unlocking services to AT&T customers, is also being sued.

The unlocking of smartphones has been a hotly debated issue as the Federal CommunicationsCommission has introduced new rules over the past few years. Most carriers, including AT&T, often sell phones at discounted rates because they know they can recoup that money by selling their own wireless services for the devices. To make sure customers stay long enough to pay back the phone subsidy, carriers install locking software that won’t allow phones to work on other carriers’ networks. Once you’ve paid off your wireless contract, the FCC now requires carriers to give customers an unlock code that will allow them to take their device to another wireless provider — if they so choose.

AT&T’s suit says Swift Unlocks, based in Anaheim, Calif., was using employees inside AT&T’s customer service center in Bothell, Wash., to secretly obtain unlock codes for devices that were still under contract, which means the carrier had no obligation to release them to competing carriers. An AT&T spokesperson tells GeekWire there was no improper access to private customer information.

There are multiple websites that sell these kinds of services under the Swift Unlocks moniker, including swiftunlocks.com. It offers to unlock AT&T devices, from Apple’s iPhone to Amazon’s Fire Phone, for between $10 and $50. On the company’s website, it describes why someone would want to unlock a phone, saying it can make switching SIM cards for international travel easier, allows you to fetch a higher price when reselling your phone and makes it possible to switch carriers to take advantage of promotions.

A&T’s lawsuit was filed this week in federal court in Seattle. The carrier names Kyra Evans, Nguyen Lam and Marc Sapatin as former customer call center employees who knowingly installed malware on company computers to give Prashan Vira, who runs Swift Unlocks, remote access to the machines. Vira, and about 50 others who haven’t been identified yet, are then accused of running programs designed to use the employees’ credentials to access the unlock codes.

Sapatin is accused of trying to recruit another AT&T employee to join the scheme, telling the worker all she needed to do was click a link provided by someone else to download the malware. The program would then run invisibly on her computer, and she would get paid $2,000 every two weeks, according to the lawsuit.

The suit alleges that the scheme allowed Swift Unlocks to secretly obtain access to “hundreds of thousands” of unlock codes until AT&T discovered the malware around October 2013. By that point, Sapatin allegedly had been paid $10,500 for his part, while Evans allegedly made at least $20,000. The suit says AT&T believes Lam took a job at the company just to be part of the scheme.

No one accused in the suit still works for AT&T, but swiftunlocks.com was still live as of Friday morning. According to the court filing, Sapatin told the worker he was trying to recruit that there were “many people across the country” involved in the scheme, accessing codes from AT&T and other carriers.

While most of swiftunlocks.com’s website is dedicated to AT&T phones, it does offer unlock services for some T-Mobile and Verizon devices.

On the FAQ portion of the site, the company tells its customers that using its service it’s legal. The company also says it can handle phones that are marked as lost, stolen or blacklisted, but they will only work outside the U.S.

Swift Unlocks has not responded to GeekWire’s request for comment, and we have not yet been able to reach the three former employees for comment.

UPDATE: An AT&T spokesperson offered the following statement: “We’re seeking damages and injunctive relief from several people who engaged in a scheme a couple of years ago to illegally unlock wireless telephones used on our network. It’s important to note that this did not involve any improper access of customer information, or any adverse effect on our customers.”

I just paid for the premium AT&T iPhone 6+ Unlock Service for $65.99 USD yesterday with Swiftunlocks and received the unlock notice less than 24hrs later.

Too easy and just in time for my trip back to Australia !!!

I think they are having trouble. I've checked with multiple premium unlocks on eBay and the admin at Samunlocks for my iPhone 6s Plus and they all say they can't do it.

The finance is 0% interest. Pay off early or pay over time is exactly same.

Unless they refund you, you did. As several have posted and as headline news indicated. The alleged insiders were discovered and the whole operation is done. Why anyone would still pay for this is beyond me.

As I said someone on this forum suggested them to me are any of the unlocking companies any good now? and if they are so bad, why doesn't the government shut swift unlocks website down?
