As I said someone on this forum suggested them to me are any of the unlocking companies any good now? and if they are so bad, why doesn't the government shut swift unlocks website down?
I guess I'm just the type of person who researches something more before forking over my hard-earned cash to Internet anon's.

The litigation against them is on-going. I'd venture a guess that they will go out of business before being shut down. If not, they most likely will be forced to close up shop. Regardless though, there will always be folks willing to take your cash off of your hands for you. It's your job to do your due diligence.

All of the third-party unlocking companies rely on one of two (or both) methods:

1. Using the same forms and request facilities that customers have (in which case, you wasted your money)
2. Enlisting employees within the carrier (AT&T) to access the unlock database and circumvent carrier unlock policies for cash. Which means the service might work for people paying to get their phones unlocked, until one day it doesn't because the people involved were caught/fired/sued/worse.

With all of these services, you pays your money and you takes your chances.

and if they are so bad, why doesn't the government shut swift unlocks website down?

Probably because AT&T thinks that their current legal actions are good enough. Or, law enforcement agencies haven't finished investigating yet.

The only people who have access to the apple tools to unlock are the carriers. So as the law suits say they did it by paying off employees at the phone companies to either do it for them or by giving them remote access to the computers used for unlocking.

I've used swiftunlocks and never had a problem.
when did you last purchase an unlock from them? what phone model and what carrier?

I think this makes a difference, it seems due to the lawsuit, they are having trouble now, and previous iphone models are a bit eaeier than the current one.

I just paid for the premium AT&T iPhone 6+ Unlock Service for $65.99 USD yesterday with Swiftunlocks and received the unlock notice less than 24hrs later.

Just followed there instructions and restored my iPhone, and got this message:

Too easy and just in time for my trip back to Australia !!!

yeah, but your phone is a previous model, I was trying for the 6s, I ordered and have had no respinse yet and it has been 3 days now, I think the unlocks are losing their effectiveness, and carriers like att have them totally blocked now, from thier scandel, I think some of the posters here are right on this, it is a matter of time before they fold completely, after their scandel, I am somewhat surprised their site is still up.

If they failed to unlock they should 'd refund you without asking any questions.

I recently unlocked two at&t iPhone's in same price which took 7 biz days by my recommended service.

how recent? was it this year? what models of iphones?

Hello everyone. Orders will get done. Just keep in mind the AT&T iphone unlock service is backed up. We have not refused any unlocks and we have responded to all emails.

Yes there is an open case but this is all speculation and we are in business and will clear all orders as we have been for last 7 years. If you have any questions please contact us on this link:

So what service are you providing that the phone companies aren't doing for free? Can you unlock phones that are still under contract? Just curious...

And why do you charge $60 (US) for a service that the phone company provides for $50 (CDN)?

Yes we can unlock in contract too.

Yes Some Canadian carrier it would make sense to do directly. But for example: Rogers We do at lower than that cost. Bell/Telus might be best to go directly which I agree with you CNeufeld and of course faster.

The other ones sometimes a customer might have bought from someone else or third party, then they are not able to unlock it themselves through the carrier. So we do it for those cases.

IF you have any more further questions feel free to ask. We will try to be more active on this forum so people are assured we are around and working.

Also on more thing phones that are NON iphones, like Telus, Rogers, Bell ETC. We charge a lot lower so that would be another case why people would go through us.

Samsung ( Starts at 15 USD)
LG (5 USD)
Blackberry (Starts at 15 USD
HTC (6 USD Instant)

and so on.

So how many days are you actually looking at now? more towards 5 days or more towards 15? I see 24 hour unlocks on ebay and need mine done quicker

Is it possible that they have gone out of business.
More than likely. When indictments are going around, and your inside paid under the table sources to actually make the changes or load some malware into the carriers computers are found out and fired. Makes it tough to continue doing business. Guess people will have to resort to the legitimate way of unlocking. Pay off the phone, and request the free unlock direct from the carrier.

anybody used the service lately? price is shown as $55.99 and 1-7 business days, is it safe to try?

thanks

Just go to eBay and get an unlock directly from the providers. Took over 2 weeks with one of the sites to get a cannot be done error and that same day through eBay I get my phone unlocked for $40 under contract. Still paying for the service just not locked anymore.

Just got a unlocked done but took 5 weeks.

I tried several of those up to $45 on ebay as it it gives some peice of mind and all got rejected as the phone is on NEXT plan, happily swiftunlocks worked.

i had a lot of respect for this guy after he unlocked 4 iphones for me using his premium service for $45. But since i submitted the last iPhone on 30th december he has not unlocked it upto today. i have sent him emails after every one week but he never responds. The last email he responded he said it will clear by end the week that was on January 9 2015. My cousin thinks i duped him by telling him i will unlock his phone and now demands a refund. I looking for an advice how i can get this guy to refund the $45.
1)He never replies emails in time
2)He gives empty promises like it will clear in 1 day
3)Has not kept his end of the deal( premium service is 1-7 days) but this one has taken more than 21 days

Please guys keep off this guy he will make you loose your business if you plan to unock many phones.

Advice how i can get him to refund i paid $45 via paypall

I did have a lot of respect to that guy as well BEFORE, that changed yesterday. Since 2013 I always order unlock services from them and was sucessfully unlocked.

Last Jan 2 of this year I ordered unlock service for my 2 Tmobile iphone 6s from Swift unlocks. But prior ordering that I have a pending order for unlock service from an eBay seller since early Dec 2015. I thought that will not go through cause i keep on messaging the eBay seller since Dec 2015 but i got no respond up to January.[the 15-20business days has already passed which is their time frame]

I got shocked when the Unlock order went through Jan 8. Meaning eBay seller unlocked my phone on Jan 8 and I was notified via email.

I immediately asked Paypal for transaction error since my Iphone is already unlocked. I know i have a mistake on my part by not calling Swiftunlocks first and going directly to paypal.

After filing that transaction error, I got a message from Swiftunlocks saying that I'm scamming them cause my order is in pending. I told them that the unlock will not push through [i did not tell them that my phone is unlocked already cause they might claim that they were the one who unlocked it].

And so it goes he kept on harassing me with filthy words on email and saying that i should put down the transaction error and my order will push through at the end of 7 business days which is the Jan 11th.

I highly doubt that they will get it done cause its already done by eBay seller. Presently I have my transaction error on paypal and waiting for Paypal's decision. Any thoughts on what should I do and the outcomes?

I purchased an extra iPhone 6S from AT&T as an upgrade when I learned that they were phasing out subsidies. Last week Swift Unlocks was able to unlock my iPhone in approximately 72 hours.

[doublepost=1454082038][/doublepost]Swiftunlocks. No customer service. Takes your money, then no code. Told me to go somewhere else for my unlock codes.
