For all the ills ive stated of this cover, and again, maybe I was just taken aback a bit by the excessively high expectations, I will say though that I've been looking for a good cover for a while, one that doesn't cover the bezel, and it's been tough to find and this one came closest to what I was looking for generally. I'm surprised at how badly made the belkin is for example. I also don't generally buy covers for my iproducts which is why I guess I don't have a relative scale of how bad some other products are out there. I started my search with getting the iPad 1 cover for the iPad 2. I don't love the material on the original apple cover, it but I've grown to really appreciate the product for it's simplicity.

Well stated - I as well was pondering if I should respond but you nailed it on the head. It's quite crazy when I look at how MANY Switcheasy products I've purchased, and ya know what... I've purchased them ALL. While Psycho is right, most of the stuff we do indeed have to buy with our own money. But on occasion, we do indeed get products for review...and its our "passion" to review these as truthfully as we can. I dont do these reviews to earn a following or to get channel views. I do it all in the interest of being part of a larger community of Apple fans, you and me alike. It's all in good fun and enlightment. The best part about this gig are the opinions :)

Moving on! For the 5-6 iPad 2 cases I have so far - The Canvas without a doubt is my favorite thus far. I'm sorry yours didnt come as expected mirzank. :( Maybe you could ask for a return? or exchange for another color/or same. If its one thing about Switcheasy, is that there customer support is top notch.

I debated not even acknowledging this statement but its kinda bugging me so this is all I'll say on it:

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but your statement about being paid off by SwitchEasy is just plain silly. Not that I should waste any time on this but I can assure you that 95% of the product I review on my YouTube channel (including the SwitchEasy product) has been paid in full out of my own pocket. My cases were not "specially made" - I got the same case as you and like I said above I suppose it's a difference of opinion.

At the end of the day I still stand by my word, this is the best case (folio style) out there for the iPad 2 at this time.

I do reviews as it's my passion and in hopes that it will help someone make a good decision. I welcome difference of opinion but questioning integrity is another story and frankly just plain lame.

Don't think twice about this man. You do some of most honest, down to earth, genuine product reviews I have ever seen. Keep it up.

Didn't mean to offend you, but I apologize doesn't mean what I said wasn't offensive. Like I just stated in my reply above, I don't generally buy covers for prodcts, the only one I have is the incase for iPhone 4 and the original iapple cover for iPad 1, and thus don't have a relative scale to compare the covers for iPad 2. I did do quite an extensive search and amongst all the covers I saw this one seemed best. I was looking for something with the simplicity if the apple iPad 1 cover, and if the plastic backing, in my opinion, had had a bit more flex like the incase iPhone cover, and used that material this would have scored higher I think.

No problem mirzank, we are all entitled to our own opinions. Thats the beauty of things right? :)

If I were you I would contact SwitchEasy as I am sure they would refund your money. If you are looking into a case that works like the original iPad 1 case by Apple you might want to wait a week and see how the reviews are on the revised YooBao that's shipping next week.

The original (besides the smell on some and magnet issue with the sleep/wake feature) seemed to be quite the hit and if the revision corrects those issues it might be the one for you.

Take care... :apple:

pyschonaut, do you know where they ship from in the US? I'm trying to estimate when mine will arrive. I ordered it today. Since the site is telling me it's in stock, I'm hoping it won't take long. Thanks for your great reviews!

Mine shipped out of Tracy, California.

Decided to order one, although the recent negative review on this website gave me pause. Like all of you I am looking for a good case I can live with. I've tried the Toblino 2 and concluded I just don't like that design (the bottom clips drive me nuts). I thank those who have done video reviews. Seeing the case in action helps in the decision making. I was also swayed by the Ilounge review which currently rates the Switcheasy Canvas among it's 3 favorite Ipad 2 cases:

After reading all the posts, I was getting excited about purchasing one of these cases for my iPad 1. I went to the Switcheasy website and the 1st gen case is entirely different

Has anyone used the 1 gen case?

Thanks,
Trvlngnrs

I decided to take the leap last night. I ordered a charcoal :). I'm sure I will br satisfied. I just can't continue on without a case... I hope it comes is soon.

I haven't. But I have read some review(s) that the second gen is a huge leap from the first one. So I'm sure there are better alternatives

Nice to see these are back in stock. I ordered a black one today and it will probably be here before my iPad.

It got me a little worried too when I read it yesterday. I've never posted on this forum but I signed up just to defend this case. I got it today (still waiting on the iPad 2) and it looks exactly like the one on the website, if anyone is being paid off it's the guy saying this case is poor quality (by competitors.) Here are some pictures and close ups that I took just to prove my point and help those people wanted to see a brown case/different positions:

Post #99 in this thread answered post #76's question about weight. So yes - the author of post #99 has weighed it.

Wow!! Thank u so much for taking the time to search through the thread, find it, and post a response without the consideration to post the answer or even link to the post!!! 13.8 ounces for those interested...

I'm sorry that in a thread of over 200 posts I forgot what one of them was..

Nayo2002,thanks for the pics. I was debating between the brown and black. Are you happy that you went with brown?

Im confident its a quality case...and got the confirmation that my new brown one shipped today...however after seeing your pics Im disappointed in the light gray color of the plastic(Why do so many companies use this drab gray color anyway?)...on the website the brown looks like its paired with a black or dark charcoal plastic, which wouldda looked cool.

Yea black was never an option for me, I like the contrasting colors so I was debating between Brown and Gray. Brown just looks very classy and professional in my opinion.

It's not that light, I was holding my camera close and flash was on. It's def not black though, I think it's same color as charcoal.

I'm confused by your apparent upset. I did answer the question you asked and even gave you the post numbers. Here's to a better day for you! :)

Side note: I ordered the black Switcheasy Canvas today.

For those that have the case and are using the headphone and power plastic covers, is there some trick to installing the cover for the bottom power port? I got the headphone one installed but on the bottom port it goes down on one side, but just won't go in on the other side. I tried with my iPad 1 port and it plugs in fine, but with iPad 2 it just won't work. I've tried both. Maybe my iPad port is slightly off?

Has anyone tried to remove the case successfully? This case is really tight fit. Got an appointment with genius bar for replacement, need someone to share some hints in removing the case (hope the material does not scratch the iPad when trying to do that). By the way, for ones that have tried the screen protector that came with it, how's it like compared to other branded ones.

Thanks NAYo2002 for posting the pics of the brown case. My brown case has been shipped, and should arrive any day. It does look like a nice case, and I'm looking forward to trying it. However, before I put my iPad in it, I do want to know the best way to get it out in case I decide to do that. Anyone have any advice on that?
