I ordered an Ivyskin Reception a week or two ago and I just got a shipping notification. I will post pics when I get it if no one else has by then. I am not sure I will keep it on all the time though. I might just put it on if I know I am going to be in a more risky envronment as I just don't really like cases in general.

IvySkin a No-Go

I ordered the Ivyskin back on July 8 (said "in-stock" and "shipping 2nd week of July"). I guess neither was true. Called them today (July 20) and they were shipping in maybe one or 2 more days. Problem is, they've had my money since July 8 . Customer service there is atrocious.

I canceled the order (I'm an idiot for letting it carry on so long), and just placed an order for the Nude in black (clear was out of stock). We'll see if these guys can do any better than Ivyskin...it would be hard to do any worse.

What sucks most is that they took the money from my account on July 8 (exactly when I placed the order), but the refund will take 10 business days to process .

That sucks, looks like you got shafted. Sorry...

I ordered my Reception case yesterday morning and got shipping confirmation from USPS today.

After reading all the negative reviews on the Nude regarding it's cheap feel and camera problem, i'll be more than happy to give the Ivyskin a try.

I do agree that they probably shouldn't take the money until the order has shipped but I'd actually say their customer service is pretty good. They did state in the questions section of the Reception Case page that shipping would begin on the 16th. When I emailed them asking a question about the $15 store credit as well as shipping of my order, they responded very promptly.

But to each their own. At one point I also considered Switcheasy but after reading all of the bad reviews, those scared me off from them.

Yeah, I saw that date on the site. They posted it late last week (well after I ordered it). They've since told me July 20, then July 22, etc. At some point they need to actually hit a date they have committed to. I am real picky with stuff like that. If they were upfront and said "hey, this is not shipping until July 22, at the earliest" then I might not have had a problem.

It's just bad business practice to take the money out of the account right away, when you have no plans on fulfilling the order for a few weeks. Reputable businesses usually do not do that. We'll see if Switcheasy is any better.

LOL!!! I can't believe you already got the shipment confirmation. Oh well...they must not like me very much...or they just can't process the flood of orders they must be getting.

ordered mine on the 15th, paid for overnight shipping since they were supposed to ship out friday and I'd have it saturday. It's the 20th and its still processing...

I just found out about these cases and I am really interested but don't know which one would be the better overall case. I'm still doing research but which one are you guys getting if at all?

I have a switch easy case for my 3GS and this thing is tough as heck, also saved my phone sever times, very strong though. SE seems to make some really good products, not sure about the other company you posted.

I hope it works out for you. I spoke to the "customer service" rep this morning and he said "we'll be shipping tomorrow or maybe Thursday." I just gave up. Now I have to wait 10 business days to get back the money that they took from me on July 8. Hopefully SwitchEasy ships tomorrow.

In contrast, I ordered a Case-Mate case for my wife's iPhone 4 on July 8, and it came 2 days later on a Saturday via usps (no expedited shipping fee either). If they had a case I liked, I would have gone to them.

Ivyskin=ivyscam

DO NOT...REPEAT... DO NOT ORDER FROM IVYSKIN. They are a scam business. They take your money....send you a bogus postal confirmation and DO NOT SHIP the case. I ordered my case on the 9th of July, they claim they shipped on the 19th of July and as of today....NO CASE! Buy any other case...but DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM IVYSKIN. You have been warned!!!!!!!!!!!

Still waiting on the ivyskin. They are a fraud

Agreed!

If you ordered from IVYSCUM do a credit card chargeback or PayPal chargeback. Also file a complaint with the NJ BBB online. They are a ripoff. PayPal has already refunded me since IVYSCAM continues to lie about shipment. I live 12 or so miles from them and they allegedly shipped it on 7/19 and, like many others, have not seen it, just the "fake" shipping confirmation.

I wouldn't say it's "fake". If you do online shipments with USPS, just notifying them of shipping triggers the info received status. I'm guessing ivyskin is still having problems with supply and stalling time. Not nice of them. However, I'd still like to see one of these cases in the wild.

Has anyone seen a review on this besides the ones posted on ivyskin's website? I searched for YouTube videos with no luck

And you probably never will, so far it's vaporware, a complete scam; they'll take your money and never ship anything (nor will they issue you a refund).

Unless you want to see your money tied up for who knows how long DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THESE GUYS.

People are throwing around the word "scam" and "fraud" too freely.

When I'm scammed, I feel like I'll never receive the service or product I paid for but I just don't believe these guys are taking fake orders and just not fulfilling them. I don't condone their business practices regarding the Reception case at all because it's downright shady and wrong to mislead your customers but these guys have sold numerous cases for the 2G, 3G, 3Gs and iPods.

Until we get some solid proof that their company has dissolved, how can we say we've been scammed? We've just been lied to and misinformed.

Does that lose them a bunch of customers? Absolutely.

But does it mean we won't eventually receive the product? Not necessarily.

I still hope I get my Reception case and like it but after this experience, I probably won't ever buy another product from them again. If it still doesn't show up after the new July 31st date, then I'll start the chargeback process with AMEX.

They are taking orders without having the product and charging credit cards probably to raise money so they can pay for the cases that are probably being held on some shipping dock awaiting payment and telling customers that the product has been shipped when it obviously was not. They are giving "tracking numbers" to "prove" the item was shipped. They are posting fake reviews and fake answers to fake questions on their website. They are not answering requests or giving refunds unless you dispute it with your credit card company or PayPal.

No, maybe they aren't scammers but that will do until I can find a better word. How anyone can trust them with their money at this point is ludicrous. I would make a dipute NOW and if by some chance the product shows up return it to them or create a shipping label to prove you sent it back or even send them payment again..

I got my refund from PayPal and if they were telling the truth the package will still show up. My bet is that it won't because when they got the chargeback they pulled my "shipping label" so it will never ship even though they said it did. Of course they will simply say "it got lost in the mail."

I think it depends on your definition of a "scam". In by book, to perpetrate an ongoing fraud is in fact a scam.

To take money for a product that you purport to have, but in reality don't, constitutes willful deceptive practice and is fraudulent. To willfully withold refunds for goods not delivered borders on malicious (a CC chargeback does not constitute a refund in good faith). I could go on, but won't; their actions speak louder than words.

Whether the product ends up at my doorstep a month from now is immaterial. Whatever game they're playing with our money while they bide their time for whatever reason isn't of interest to me. What they're doing is by all accounts unethical; to me "scammers" is too nice a word for them.

As far as their past history, they may very well have run a legitimate operation in the past. But there's a saying in business: "You're only as good as your last sale".

I canceled my Ivyskin order (actually, they canceled it for me since I bitched so much about the continued shipping delays). Just got my refund yesterday.

My guess is that they didn't anticipate demand being so high.

I ordered the Nude. It's fine...nothing to write home about. The screen protector that comes with it is not very high quality. I had the phone in my pocket yesterday with nothing else in the pocket, and the screen protector was scuffed so bad it blurs some spots on the screen.

Anyone have a suggestion for a high quality screen protector (not to get too far off topic or starting a new thread here).

I got the nude in today and was almost instantly ticked off. They advertise a scratch resistant case so clear you almost won't know you have a case on. Well, out the box the damn thing is scruffed beyond belief. That's my review. I wouldn't waste money on it. I emailed switcheasy and they gave me instructions for refund.

Uhhhmmmmmm.... Good customer service?
