Liam, fair enough. Very vey good customer service and fast shipping. I don't hold this lousy product against them as a company but they should have known better.

Also, the product is starting to warp and you can "see saw" the phone in the case. Also, it's now apparent to methat plastic cases will not help with bars dropping. Rubber will be the way to go for that.

So ivyskins product came in today. I now own both the switcheasy nude and this reception case. Some thoughts:

Switcheasy: I don't like it. Listen, great customer service ok? I made an order from them a week after I did ivyskin and got their product 4 days later. The case, itself, doesn't get the job done. First off, the case came scruffed as all hell. This after they advertise "so clear you'll barely know it's on". Whatever. The second biggest problem is that the case begins to warp and doesn't get enough of a grip on your phone. My phone actually "see-saws" in the case. Biggest complaint, bars still drop. I've tested this in differed places and no matter how I hold it, bars will drop.

Ivyskin: I just got this an hour ago so I'll update later but it goes without saying this had to have been the absolute worst customer experience I've had, bar none.

For the product, sigh, it's not the same case as shown on their website. My guess, manufacturing problems, last minute changes, I dunno. Now, judging it for what it is, it fits perfectly around he phone. No leeway whatsoever. No name branding. Does it drop bars? Yes, yes it does. The plastic came in pristine condition. It fits and looks really good but all you're really getting is a glorified back anti scratch protection.

Summary, these plastic cases are absolutely 100% using fear mongering tactics to bump sales. If you're looking for something to prevent bars dropping, they're not going to help. You're goin to need a rubber or leather case, period. For cosmetics and anti scratch, ivyskin is the way to go for sure.

Bars dropping? I don't get no stinkin' bars dropping with or without case. I want a clear case in order to show the Gelaskin decal through the case.

As for IVYSCAM. Ain't worth the effort. As a company they suck (I'd use another word but it would get *****'s anyway). They blatantly lie about shipping, the post fake reviews on their site, they ship a case with a totally different design than what they have shown for the last three weeks (YES, they changed their website photos AFTER finally beginning to ship). If it were the best thing since sliced bread and they sent it to me for free I'd still return it.

Sad part is, people ordering now have no clue on how they treated their customers in the past so except for a few dozen lost sales they will just keep on selling.

My post wasn't directed to you. Noone said you, tb07, had bars drop. If your bars don't drop then that point wasn't meant for you, right? Let's not pretend that people don't have bars that do drop. I brought the point up because there are people who drop bars when lower left antenna is held and both switcheasy and ivyskin advertise that covering said antenna with their products will prevent contact and, in turn, bars from dropping. I thought it was an important point to make so people understand it's not true.

My point wasn't the bars (I guess you didn't get the joke from the famous movie line:

My point was IvySCAM sucks cow balls and they shouldn't get 2cents of anyone's money.

I just found out about these cases and I am really interested but don't know which one would be the better overall case. I'm still doing research but which one are you guys getting if at all?

SwitchEasy Nude

IvySkin Reception
http://www.ivyskin.com/iphone-4-case/iphone-4-reception-case.html

I purchased both and I like the IvySkin Reception better.

Both cover the sides of the iPhone in the same way but the Nude has better coverage on the top and bottom and includes removable covers for the headphone jack and dock connecter port.

However, I like the Reception better because it seems to be a bit thinner and more scratch resistant than the Nude. Also, the Reception has a better overall finish especially on the side edges; they don't feel as sharp as the Nude.

When I received my Nude case, there were already some visible scratches on it. After having it on my iPhone for a week, it was heavily marred and scratched as if I had it in my pocket with my keys and coins. I emailed SwitchEasy and explained my disappointment and they said I could send it back for a full refund. Now that is great customer service! I hope they take a look at the IvySkin and try and make improvements to their product.

What I hated about IvySkin is their customer service. My case took 15 days to reach me after they sent out their shipping notice that said to expect it in 7-10 business days. My emails were answered with a generic response and they never gave me a status. Also, phone line is an endless loop Greeting Response and nothing happens when you press 1 or 2 as instructed.

Also, the front and back film protection that came with the IvySkin is ruined by the adhesive paper tabs on them. I was not able to remove the sticky adhesive from the film so I could not use them.

Still, the fact that the Reception case is still not scratched, and I've had it almost a week, is why I like it better than the Nude case (clear).

Hope this helps.
