A quick question for you owners out there.

Does the cover snap on securely? Is there any play or does it feel like a snug fit? It's obviously too early to tell, but my biggest concern is that'll it loosen and lose its tightness around the corners over time. I'd hate to have a clicking noise every time I pick up and set down the iPad.

Thanks! :apple:

It's a snug fit with no rattle thus far. I guess only time will tell how it holds up but thus far I am really enjoying it.

I ordered a white version of the case last night and once it arrives I will shoot a video compare so you can see the color diff.

Nude v Grip Vue

psychonaut,

Could you describe what you'd expect in terms of short-drop protection between the nude and the grip vue? Looking at the materials used it would appear the the belkin might afford more protection? Your thoughts? Also could you describe/compare the general feel of the two? (e.g. Are they comparable in grip? Is one harder/softer/noticeably different in some capacity?)

Thanks! Great videos!

I ordered a white one as well. I also ordered a Waterfield Suede Jacket w/pocket to go with it. I'm hoping the slight added bulk still works with the jacket and plan carry the stand in the pocket. Based on your video, I'm pretty confident that it will work, but we'll see. I also have a keyboard dock and will comment on whether or not the case is compatible with it.

Hey, no mention of the screen protector, is it that bad?

I've used their screen protectors before (they include them is most if not all their cases), and they are pretty good. Just keep in mind that their screen protector is the clear kind, not anti-glare.

I would not expect this case to protect against drops, I think it's more for basic protection against scratches etc... Also remember that this case does not cover the bezel so if it drops I doubt its going to protect the face of your iPad very well.

Grip wise because the SwitchEasy is a hard plastic it is harder to the touch unlike the somewhat tactile feel of the Belkin. Between the two I prefer the SwitchEasy because after prolonged usage it's does not sweat as I have found the Belkin to do somewhat.

Don't get me wrong I love the belkin but the SwitchEasy makes my ipad feel even smaller than my belkin did.

For me I don't need much protection since I baby my iPad and when it's not in use I place it in the hard candy cases bubble sleeve but for those of you looking for more protection the belkin is probably a better choice.

i ordered the black nude case last night. hoping it gets here soon. between all the posts and the youtube videos of psychonaut i had to order this case. Don't really need it.

this forum is bad for my wallet!

Cany anyone who has this case already confim weather the camera connection kit works without having to remove the case?

Thanks much!

Steve

Although I do not show it in my video I can confirm that YES the camera connection kit works with the SwitchEasy NUDE, I tried it over the weekend.

Ordering from Canada

Has anyone been successful in ordering one from Canada? I had read that some Canadians have had their orders cancelled.

My order was cancelled because I apparently placed the order through the US store and not the international store (you would think Paypal would've given me an error, but oh well). So instead of paying $3 for shipping through the US store, I have to pay $15 for Fedex shipping through the international store, so I decided not to replace my order.

What's all the hype about? I really don't think this case is any good.

This may not be for everyone... But It looks like it's just as good as some of the other similar cases mentioned (i.e. Speck Candyshell, Belkin Grip Vue, etc.). In addition, it's aggressively priced (compared to competitors) and comes with the standard Switcheasy "kitchen sink".

To be honest, I don't see how this is being hyped up anymore than other cases on this forum. With that said, I think the people that are interested are so for a good reason.

This case looks really nice. I'm in need of a new one after returning my WiFi for the 3G. Does anyone know of any coupon codes that may work or if any stores in the NYC area are carrying them? Thanks.

I dont think it is hyped any more than the other cases here. I am curious as to why you do not like it?

I have tried multiple cases thus far and filmed many for those on these forums to help in their decision making process and I really think that iPad cases are built around specific needs. One style does not fit all.

IMO based on all the cases I own and have tried:

SwitchEasy NUDE: My #1 choice for those looking for a high quality case at minimal cost. This should be the choice case for those who do not need moderate to maximum protection. Make no mistake about it, this case is just about at minimal as you can get. While it protects against scratches and some bumps, its not going to cover your bezel or protect against drops (IMO) Comes with the case, screen protector, micro fiber cloth, 2 stands and 4 port plugs. Cost = $29

Belkin Grip Vue: Great for those wanting some level of protection for the bezel and minor drops and scratches while not adding much bulk Cost = $49

Macally Metrolpad: Very similar to the Belkin in protection qualities but at a lower cost = $29 Some design differences make the belkin stand out over the Macally (IMO)

Incase Convert Book Jacket: Adds the most bulk out of the cases I have tried but also adds some of the most protection with padding, etc... This is a good case for those wanting an integrated stand, cover, etc... The most expensive at $59

Hard Candy Cases Bubble Sleeve: Best used (IMO) as a transport case when not using the iPad. Outstanding level of protection for when your iPad is in travel/not being used although you can use the iPad in it if you really want to. $49

Waterfield Ultimate Sleeve Case: Very High quality bag used for storing your iPad when it is in travel or not in use. Only the slimmest cases for the iPad will fit in the Waterfield bag (SwitchEasy) so unless your iPad is going naked it may not fit and you should wait for the new Waterfield "Exo" case coming this month (May). Price varies on how you configure the bag = $49 - $70ish

So as you can see, each case serves its own purpose for different needs. For me the combo of either the SwitchEasy, Belkin and Hard Candy Bubble sleeve works very well for me. Others, it all depends.

I think the reson why people are excited about the SwitchEasy is because its a clean minimal design that serves its purpose well while including a number of accessories while keeping cost down.

I got the clear SwitchEasy nude today and really like it! Super fast shipping too! Ordered Friday and received Monday!

It's very thin and light, is super clear, snapped right on, and surprisingly left no "Watermarks" in the back or anything. It looks really clean. The included stands work really well too and are super portable.

This is a steal and I'd definitely recommend it.

Also notable is that it still fit in my incase sleeve. Tight fit, but worked. Very cool.

That's great to hear. I just ordered mine today so I hope it arrives soon.

And your opinion trumps others because??

It doesn't, don't worry.

I was originally (and still am) most interested in the case for my phone but with the imminent release of a new iPhone I'm holding off. This thread started as an iPhone accessory and somehow made it to an iPad accessory. I want to see some pics myself (of the iPads).

Does anyone have any pictures of the iPad in any of the colored cases? I really wanted the clear version of the case because liked the apple logo showing.

Hey All,

Received my clear nude today, very fast delivery (Saturday - Monday). Upon receiving the package i went ahead and removed the Belkin Vue and started to apply the screen cover. Fits well, but i have some small air bubbles that refuse to move, i'll work on it as the days go by.

After that, i applied the case. Very easy to put on, but as I was putting it on, I noticed a bump on the left side. I thought it was supposed to be there but after seeing the thing fully on, I realized it was buckled on the left side. It's a small bump but it's still a bump.

I e-mailed switcheasy for an exchange and i'm awaiting their response. Hopefully they have some clears in stock for exchanges.

As far as the comparison to the Belkin, its different. Different feel, on my hand it slips more than the Belkin, but I figured as much going from a rubbery type case to a plastic clear one. If switcheasy exchanges this case before the end of the week when my 14 day return period on the Belkin runs out, i will keep the nude. It's the better bargain for $30, everything works very well, the cover, case, cloth and stands are very simple yet useful. But I can honestly use either case, they both cover the iPad well. Can't go wrong with either one.

I had to exchange a Switcheasy Colors case for my iPod Touch. My experience was that they sent me the case without having to send in the original. I don't know if that will be the situation here, but thought I would mention it.
