I have been looking for an iPhone 5 case for some time now. I find a majority of the options incredibly ugly but this one isn't bad. I like the fact that it kind of follows Apple's design with the two toned back.

What is Switcheasy's shipping like? Only problem is I need it by Saturday. I'm going to be traveling and I want it before I leave town. Any chance it could get to Texas by then?

I ordered it Friday, it shipped today, and will be here Thursday. I live in Washington, DC, and it ships from California. You might be able to get it there on Friday if you order it tonight, and it ships with USPS so it might deliver on Saturday.

Love this case! And love MacRumors forums! Otherwise I would have never found some of the great cases and screen protectors that I learned about here.

What I like about this case is the lightness, great grip material that looks like it will hold up well and that while it should offer decent protection, it doesn't interfere with my screen protector.

I initially purchased this in the white/gray and then went back and ordered the pink and turquoise.

I've had my white case for about a week and noticed some discoloration today on the grey "grippy" parts. I washed the case with soap and warm water, which helped a bit but I'm mostly concerned about keeping the case looking clean with extended use.

Here are some photos for you to have a look:

Image

All corners are slightly discolored, but the visible corner on the right of the photo is most obvious. This photo was taken after my attempt to clean the case.

You can see the discoloration in all corners and the bottom edge of the case (left side of photo). Also, note, that I removed the black outline around the camera hole because it began to chip and I thought that it looked better without the outline. I used an alcohol swab to wipe it off completely.

I like the case a lot and would love if it didn't have this minor issue. I would buy the case again if SwitchEasy used a different material for the gray part of the case—maybe make it less "grippy".

Is the discoloration coming from regular use? Do you carry it in your pocket? I just received it yesterday and while I really like it, a dirty looking case that won't come clean, will be a "no go" for me.

Yup, this is pretty regular use. The discoloring has gotten worse in the past two days even though I have been trying to avoid putting the phone in my pants pocket. These are not new pair of jeans, either—these are jeans that have been washed several times.

I switched to a thin case today because the Tones case isn't compatible with both of the 30-pin to Lightning adapters and I need to use an adapter in my car. The phone definitely feels more protected in the SwitchEasy Tones case. The only downsides (other than the discoloration of the white case) is that the extra protection comes at the cost of adding bulk to the phone.

got my case today and I have to say it its my favorite so far.
way better than the otterbox defender and speck candyshell I have.

also have an etsy wallet case that is so-so

this case is awesome!!

So I bought this item from an ebay seller by the name of xessoriesusa, but never got the item!!

he mentioned that when i ordered it back in the beginning of oct, they ran out of stock and it seems that there is a manufacturing defect that is delaying the new cases

The defect could be the paint discoloration that you guys are mentioning.

I just ordered two cases directly from Switcheasy 3 days ago and received them yesterday. The turquoise case is perfect but the pink one has some black spots molded in the rubber in the top and bottom sections. I'm waiting to hear back from their customer service. I would imagine they will just send me a new one.

I ordered mine on Thursday and got it on Saturday (the blue one). It's great. Definitely way better than what I've seen from 99% of case manufacturers. From the other manufacturers (speck, griffin, belkin, incase etc) I thought that the iPhone 5 cases were either just plain boring or way uglier than any of the other cases I'd seen (especially the colors). This Switcheasy Tone's colors are more to my liking (the whole series) and the case fits perfectly. I'd say the only downside is that the power button isn't as clicky as I would like with the case on, but that happens with a lot of these types of cases and I can overlook that.

Another thing I like about this case is that it follows the Apple design for the iPhone 5 very well with the two toned back.

Also, SwitchEasy customer service was top notch. I told them I was ordering on a Thursday and I needed to get it by Sat before I went out of town, the guy made sure to personally make sure mine was mailed immediately rather than waiting for the next day's shipment. So I would definitely recommend SwitchEasy to anybody looking for an iPhone 5 case.

Some of the other cases always turned me off from SwitchEasy, like the ones that look like alien skeletons, but this case is perfect as far as iPhone cases go.

I don't know how the heck you guys are ordering this case and getting it so damn quick. I ordered mine from Switcheasy on October 4th and I'm still waiting. Look at this mess that I see when I'm tracking the package. I know that it isn't Switcheasy's fault that the USPS sucks but I'm really pissed.

That is crazy wait time for you. I ordered mine on the 18th and received it on the 20th. Sorry the print screen is so fuzzy and illegible but it shows that mine actually hit more stops and still made it to me in 2 days.

I'm in the UK, I ordered it last week and got it today.

However there is some marks on the top and bottom of the case, I've put in a picture, it is hard to see on camera but noticeable in person.

I've sent SwitchEasy an email about it to see what they say
Do you think I should push for a replacement?
or as its the case its gonna get scuffed just use it?

Looks like typical color patterns you can see on that type of material. No worries as the next could have them also.

I just emailed this seller because I haven't gotten mine either. Are you getting a refund? He said they won't have them in stock now till 11/2 which is irritating since he marked it shipped on 10/14

I ordered it from the same seller on Oct 4th. He marked mine as shipped on the 6th and I've messaged him several times but he's never actually told me when they shipped it out. I'm getting very frustrated as I just want the case. Maybe we should all go through eBay to demand a refund?

hey guys, love the look of this case. have a question for you, is the rubber/silicone on the top and bottom grippy or slick?

i hate cases that grip into your pockets and make it hard to remove. that same texture also makes it too sticky to wipe down with disinfectant wipes.

Definitely slick. It's a hard TPU material rather than a soft, rubbery material.

I just asked politely for a refund. If I don't get it I will file a complaint through eBay.

thanks for the quick response. so in terms of drop protection this case doesn't offer much in terms of shock-absorbing softer material?

Well I haven't dropped it yet but I'd say this case provides a litttle more protection than your super-thin cases (Desmay Slight, Incipio Feather, Incase Snap, etc.). It will provide some shock-absorption but I wouldn't want to drop my phone on concrete from more than a foot at most with this case. It's a really nice, thin case that offers more than just protection from scratches. If you need something similar but with more protection, I'd go for something like a Speck Candyshell or Otterbox Commuter. They're a little bulkier for sure though.

Oh I would push for a replacement but good luck with that. I ordered 3 of the Tones cases - whit, turquoise and pink. The pink one has molded in black spots in the rubber ends. I sent them photo but received the following response. I went from a super satisfied customer to a very angry and disappointed one. I can no longer recommend buying from this comapny that sends out defective cases and won't stand behind their product. Very poor customer service.:(

Indeed they've asked for me to send the case back to Germany....

I rubbed the material and the scuffing seems to have disappeared, some minor rough edges on the hard material mind you, also a scuff on the inside of the harder material but you cannot see it so I'll leave it.

Great case overall but I think the QC needs improving

I just received my Tones case & was dissatisfied at first. It was just hard plastic and not as dark as I had hoped, but just a few hours later and I love it! I love the texture and the way it precisely covers the speaker grille. The sleep/awake button is ok & different from what I expected. My first case was the Incipio DualPro. It felt soft but the "lip" was too deep and accumulated dust very quickly. See, I don't ogle over the back of my iphone, it's the screen which holds my attention and I want everything else to disappear and it does. No screen protector to block my retina and this ones a keeper until Mophie drops a new Juice Pack Plus.

Has anyone in the UK ordered this case? if so from where and how long did it take to deliver? I've ordered it from amazon and was told it would arrive on the 29th of oct but have not received anything.
