Switching from iPhone 7 to 7 plus

I am thinking of doing the same. My only problem is how to accomplish it logistically. I've had several bad experiences selling online so I think I'd rather do a trade-in. I'm on the iPhone upgrade program but I think buying a 7 Plus outright and trading it in with the regular 7 in September might actually be less expensive.

Can anyone weigh in and help me out with my decision? I'd really love to be able to make the switch for $300 or less.

EDIT:

im on the device payment plan for verizon i basically had to pay half of the phone off ($300) to upgrade but they receive the phone back i do not get to keep it.

Are you planning on upgrading again in September? I'd hate to pay around $600-700 in a year when I'm not gonna be able to keep the phone.
