It isn't as easy as you think.
After the person gets the referral, they have to claim their giftcard. THEN the person who referred them still has to go on the website after that to "claim" their giftcard.
They don't make anything easy. It would be nice if when a person signs the contract they could just give them the email and the giftcards were sent out automatically... but forgoten giftcards are big money!
Anyway, we've been with AT&T forever. Our first phones were crappy, free Samsungs that both borke/froze within the 1st year requiring us to upgrade early (which means paying full price). On top of that, the free MP3 players never came. We were told by a rep (yeah, I know, reliable people

) that we would also recieve 2 $50 giftcards - got one.
We both have OLD Razors, and if the iphone were offered by Verison, we'd switch at the Apple Store... The only reason we didn't get 1st generation phones was because I was finishing grad school and it was iphones for one (and a pee-od other half) or rent. Well. . .
Now I'm out of school and can justify the data plan for work.
I imagine this referral program is going to be alot like their other programs and reps... partial truth and microscopic print.
YAY AT&T!!!!
Kudos to Apple for a awesome phone, even someone who doesn't give a crap about cell phones is going crazy waiting for.
