They don't need your last name, just email and first name, FYI.
I think anyone who's signing a new contract should be eligible. I mean, I DO technically have an AT&T account which is up for termination/upgrade. I was referred to the iphone by my husband (by "The Iphone is awesome, I'll be getting one and so will you"). I did my own research and decided it was freakin' awesome, thus keeping the at&t account.
So even though I have an at&t account (which I woulda switched over to Verison if not for the iphone), and was told I should get the iphone and *could* chose to walk, but am staying because I was "REFERRED" to stay... LOL. It's after 5 am... what do you expect? I'm not lucid at this hour.

It just makes sense that it should work. I could close the account and open a new one, since I just could, but then I'd have to get a new number. It's not worth 25 bucks. It just stinks that we're signing new contracts and don't have the same rights as new customers. Ha!
I almost feel like it is easier for people who don't have AT&T already. I feel sorry for the people who still have to sign new contracts, pay more money, and add a data plan for more moeny without any choice in the matter. It seems like some AT&T customers are getting shafted big-time for being a loyal customer. Granted, if you got a Tilt for a back-up phone, you're in pretty good shape. REALLLLY wish I woulda gotten the 1st gen phone. Imagine having that as a "just in case" phone. I know a girl who accidentally dropped her phone in a bar toilet and flushed it.

But that was in my undergrad years... it was funny at the time. The cool part was is that she got a free phone cuz she had the insurance (which was like $3.95 at the time) even after telling the Cingulair rep about her drunken pisscapade.
Glad I kept the POS Rzr (no, not the v3, the original). I found out that I've had it since early '05 and have been eligible for a long time. It's time to upgrade.
Let me know if you'd like a referral. This could really work out well for everyone and offset costs if you're upgrading early. Ideally, current AT&T customers could end up getting the 16GB phone for $174.99 if we do get 5 referrals (even tho you get the gift cards later). That's awesome!
I got three left: send me your First Name, Last Name, and Email address and I'll send you the referral email.
