It will. Probably in three sizes. But due to supply constraints they will probably limit to one size this year. Here's to hoping that design is implemented across all models and not just the 5.5".
I'm sure Apple will think of a way round it. Maybe they will go for soft buttons - although I agree that the screen real estate is an issue that few seem to think about. Maybe they will put a button on the side of the phone, or the rear. Gestures. My bet is Force Touch, though.
Cool technology, I hope to see this in future products I'm impressed with hello windows and if Apple could use similar, it will definitely be a plus![]()
Don't let Samsung steal it from Apple years before Apple gets it to market...I predict...somebody's going to sue somebody.
You can't patent concepts like "scanning a fingerprint through a display." You patent methods for doing things. Want to avoid Apple's patent? Invent your own method.Curious how other manufacturers will use this tech, considering apple was granted fingerprint through display patent last year.
Except that's exactly what they're not showing.....Synaptic's biometric engine must be light years ahead of everyone else to scan fingerprints while wearing gloves.![]()
Where it "improves" on the Galaxy S(23-12=)11Look forward to seeing this tech in the iPhone 23.
If Apple doesn't have it yet, is Samsung really stealing it then?Don't let Samsung steal it from Apple years before Apple gets it to market...
Looks more like facial recognition rather than iris scanning from that image shown in OP's post
It can't be gestures, force touch, or anything to do with the front screen since those features might be used by the game.
Adding more buttons to the side or even the back is likely not intuitive to the general population. I'm not trying to shoot down your idea, I would love to have a phone with no hard buttons, but I just don't see how the home button can be removed.
Without wishing to appear combative, or insult anyone, you need to be a very special kind of stupid to not understand the ENTIRE point of the image depicting a gloved finger near the fingerprint scanner.
These marketing pictures are so crazy sometimes! Holding the phone at this angle, even if her face showed up on the screen, there should be a sky behind her head, not the horizon. It feels weird. And with the finger in that position, it's almost implied she is going to scan her fingerprint... with gloves! Mindblowing!
It says it allows to be unlocked in multiple ways "depending on what's most convenient for the user." The picture is showing they can't scan the fingerprint, so it's using the camera. It's just showing how it can choose the best way to unlock without inconveniencing the user. These marketing pictures are so crazy sometimes! I've got the same combination on my luggage.and 90% of the population will still use "1234" as their 4-digit passcode instead
Finally... The 'Home' button can go home.
No problem. Just do what I would do.My face is too ugly for recognition. The phone would keep crashing.
Yes, setup Windows Hello on my grandpa's Surface BookCool technology, I hope to see this in future products I'm impressed with hello windows and if Apple could use similar, it will definitely be a plus![]()
