Ahead of MLB Opening Day on July 23, T-Mobile today announced that customers with an active line of service can receive free one-year subscriptions to the MLB.TV Premium streaming service and the sports publication The Athletic.

The offers, which extend to Sprint customers, can be redeemed through the T-Mobile Tuesdays app between July 21 and August 4.

MLB.TV provides baseball fans with live and on-demand access to every out-of-market regular season game, with both home and away broadcast feeds. Supported devices include the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, Xbox One, PS4, and more.

An MLB.TV subscription also unlocks all of the premium features of the MLB app, including in-market audio and enhanced pitch-by-pitch tracking.

In my opinion, it's much better perk than the the recent iPad Verizon offer of free Apple News for 6 months :).

I still think that the major carriers are still over priced. I pay $15 per month before taxes by prepaying for a year at mint mobile (unlimited voice, text, and 3 gig data (uses the T-Mobile network)).

Every year I sign up and every year I watch a few minutes of one or two games.

Honestly, I think the issue is that there are just to many games. I never feel like I have to watch a specific one, and so I never watch any of them.

Great deal, The Athletic is a great source for sports news.
Never even heard of The Athletic. What's great about it?

Is this offer only for this year’s 60 games plus play off?
Technically, I think the playoffs are included but if they're on a local network they're blacked out for MLBTV. Since the playoffs are always on a major network you would watch them there instead of MLBTV. At least that's how its always worked for me. My problem with MLBTV is how extensive the "home area" is. I'm in Buffalo, NY. NYY, NYM, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh are all blacked out here. Toronto isn't but that must have to do with being in a different country because they're closer than any of the clubs on the blackout list.

They have had this promo for at least the last 4 years. So it willinclude the entire shortened season but in the past it hasn't included the playoffs since those are nationally televised.

Pretty good deal! Probably won’t get a ton of use out of it but any bonus is cool by me. I’ve really enjoyed the Netflix benefits since switching to T-Mobile.

Not showing up for me. :( (Just noticed it says July 21. Whoops!)

Timely when the season is short this year and might very well not even finish due to COVID.
It's impossible to please some people, like negative Nancy here. It's funny, yesterday someone was complaining because they hadn't announced it yet and it was their "Uncarrier" event. hahaha. Literally they were like, "What about MLB?! It starts next week!" haha. My word.

I pay around $18 per line with unlimited everything, and no taxes to add in on T-Mobile, and I just pay monthly.
