T-Mobile today announced that new and existing Magenta and Magenta MAX customers can receive 12 months of Apple TV+ for free starting this Wednesday, August 25 in the United States. T-Mobile has launched a promotional page with further details.

The offer can even be redeemed by users who already pay for Apple TV+. Once you redeem the offer, your paid Apple TV+ subscription will pause and the free one-year period will begin. Once the free period ends, standard billing will resume. T-Mobile's offer can also be stacked with any free trial included with the purchase of a new Apple device.

Magenta, Magenta MAX, and T-Mobile for Business customers can login to the T-Mobile app or my.t-mobile.com and navigate to Rate Plan Details to redeem the offer starting Wednesday. Look for a "one year of Apple TV+ on us" banner. T-Mobile customers still on the Sprint billing system can redeem by visiting T-Mobile's promotions page and entering the promo code 2021APPLETVP1 into the redemption field.

Eligible plans for T-Mobile customers include Magenta, Magenta MAX, and other Magenta plans, as well as Business Unlimited Advanced and Business Unlimited Ultimate. The offer extends to select Sprint plans, including Unlimited Plus, Unlimited Premium, and others.

Apple TV+ is regularly priced at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. The streaming service provides access to Apple's growing library of original TV shows and films, including the hit comedy series "Ted Lasso" starring Jason Sudeikis.

T-Mobile recently suffered a massive data breach that exposed personal information about nearly 50 million customers.

That’s great and all but is it to cover up and make it up to its customers for the data breach?

Unlikely that such a deal would be worked out so quickly -- If you've ever tried to get two corporate legal teams on the same page... 😴💤💤💤

So I'd guess this has probably has been in the pipeline for a while -- it's kind of in line with other stuff TMO has done such as providing basic Netflix (or equivalent credit against a higher level plan) to many customers, and they've also also offered a $10/mo discount for YouTubeTV subscribers.

Apple is throwing free Apple TV to everyone and their mama and there appears to be few takers… interesting business model, Apple. You’re not known for free stuff.
Exactly. I get the emails about you can sign up for free Apple TV or Arcade. Nothing interests me on those services. Im happy with Netflix and Disney+

How about a free year of identity protection service now that all of their customers have to be worried about who has their SSNs and driver's licenses?

Honestly, chances are pretty good that your info was already out there before the breach. Forget monitoring and freeze all your credit, set alerts with all your financial institutions, ensure 2fa authentication without SMS, etc.

Thought this was a thing, but I see no codes for sale on eBay.
Do you figure people have time machines they're using to send their codes back in time from later this week? :D

They should give us this for free for losing our data in the hack due to negligence… I’m T Mobile One still

Apple TV+ for a year is like $60. My personal data is worth a hell of a lot more than that. Let's start off with two years of free service on our T-Mobile bill...

My T-Mobile account information was breached for the third or 4th time and I’ve been a customer for 10 years, but I didn't get this offer. All I got was a 2 year free McAfee identity theft protection plan that probably isn't worth a wooden nickel! Not that it really matters. I got 15 months free Apple TV+ service and seldom found anything worth watching thereon. At any rate, though T-Mobile sucks in many ways, they suck much less and or definitely less sleazy than AT&T and Verizon, so I’ll stick with T-Mobile.

Maybe T-Mobile should change their advertising to say, "Switch to T-Mobile, we suck much less than those other two sleaze-balls"!

T-Mobile: Slightly cheaper. Slightly less sucky.®
