Apple TV+ for a year is like $60. My personal data is worth a hell of a lot more than that. Let's start off with two years of free service on our T-Mobile bill...

Oh I totally agree… I’m saying this should be included. They already have two years of identity theft and that is not enough. Why is this a magenta exclusive

I wish T-Mobile would offer a choice of streaming services. $8.99 credit for Magenta and $13.99 credit for Magenta Max that can be used toward services from Amazon, Apple, Disney, Google, and Netflix.

People don't give Apple TV+ a big enough of a chance. They have some really great shows. This is a great value!
I agree.. but I can count them all on one hand and the app (which is full of ads for services I dont have) is abysmal (for that very reason).

That’s basically what US Mobile does. You still technically choose from a list but it’s extremely broad and isn’t partner-billed - they just credit you the relevant amount (you upload proof of sub approx 1 time
Per year).

Sweet, just brought my wife over and converted to Magenta plan, so I'll take the free year as I was going to cancel my sub after Ted Lasso ended.

I'll look into this towards the end of the year. My current free Apple TV+ ends in November. We already receive a discount for Netflix via T-Mobile and have Prime TV via our Prime membership. And Apple TV+ has enough programs that we like so we were already thinking about subscribing yearly. This is a no-brainer.

Surprised the editors didn't mention T-Mobile's failed, anemic TVision streaming service that was shutdown after about six months. Subscribers were offered a $10 monthly discount for other streaming services. So not surprised with the ATV+ offer.

FWIW - the $10/mo discount to YouTubeTV wasn't limited to TVision subs. I forget if there were plan related restrictions like this ATV+ offer has, but there was definitely no TVision requirement.

And looks like the promo / code can be obtained anytime until June 2022 but must be redeemed by July 31, 2022 so you're good to keep on your current promo period.

You're right. TVision subscribers got some other perk for the cancelled service (IIRC, a free month of YouTube TV -OR- three months free of another subscription service depending on your level of subscription). I remember when I added the in-laws to my account the T-Mobile reps were really pushing TVision. Got to the point that I almost walked out of the store. My father in-law yelled "Stop!" at one rep it got so annoying.

Fortunately the only time I've ever had to deal with someone in person it was when we ported our two lines over via the kiosk @ Costco, so the third party agent wasn't pitching a bunch of cr@p.

Absolutely hated ever setting foot in an AT&T store for all the constant upselling of random cr@p I didn't need.

6 months from now: T-Mobile iCloud users are suggested to change their passwords after T-Mobile server compromises users signed up for AppleTV+.

pretty funny how hackers just stole personal information from 70 million AT&T customers. Guess it’s just no T mobile

The issue really isn't T-Mobile. These data breaches happen in all companies and organizations for one simple reason: there are no criminal or meaningful financial penalties for the incompetence and penny-pinching that leads to the breaches. In the US, laws do not apply to large corporations or wealthy people.

that was kind of my point. Not a customer of T-Mobile but people ******** on them as if it’s never happened anywhere else is just stupid.

T-Mobile today announced that new and existing Magenta and Magenta MAX customers can receive 12 months of Apple TV+ for free starting this Wednesday, August 25 in the United States. T-Mobile has launched a promotional page with further details.

The offer can even be redeemed by users who already pay for Apple TV+. Once you redeem the offer, your paid Apple TV+ subscription will pause and the free one-year period will begin. Once the free period ends, standard billing will resume. T-Mobile's offer can also be stacked with any free trial included with the purchase of a new Apple device.

Magenta, Magenta MAX, and T-Mobile for Business customers can login to the T-Mobile app or my.t-mobile.com and navigate to Rate Plan Details to redeem the offer starting Wednesday. Look for a "one year of Apple TV+ on us" banner. T-Mobile customers still on the Sprint billing system can redeem by visiting T-Mobile's promotions page and entering the promo code 2021APPLETVP1 into the redemption field.

Eligible plans for T-Mobile customers include Magenta, Magenta MAX, and other Magenta plans, as well as Business Unlimited Advanced and Business Unlimited Ultimate. The offer extends to select Sprint plans, including Unlimited Plus, Unlimited Premium, and others.

Apple TV+ is regularly priced at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. The streaming service provides access to Apple's growing library of original TV shows and films, including the hit comedy series "Ted Lasso" starring Jason Sudeikis.

T-Mobile recently suffered a massive data breach that exposed personal information about nearly 50 million customers.
