You could get YouTube Red and download the videos while on wifi...and then watch them whenever, regardless of connection.
Or, use one of the many YouTube downloader websites at no cost.

You have to consider that videos will now use up 1/3 maybe even 1/4 of the bandwidth that they used to because of the new compression. This is pretty genius. Not to mention that most people that weren't streaming movies are not about to start. The increase in streaming is greatly offset by the reduction in bandwidthI can't imagine how they make money. Either data is really cheap and cost the carriers next to nothing to send or they have a crazy CEO who will drive their company into the ground.
So you all realize that T-Mobile basically has to 'spy on you' to know when you are watching a streaming video to trigger that data to be free.
And everyone here is OK with their privacy being completely invaded by T-Mobile???????
Seeing as T-Mobile is making a net profit, while providing all of these benefits to their customers, while adding and expanding LTE coverage, and going to the FCC auction for even more coverage -- it's pretty safe to say ATT and VZW are egregiously charging their customers for service.I can't imagine how they make money. I wasn't talking about the doubled data.

For now, I can only go by what has been reported. But 24 streaming services are on board, apparently. I can't even name ten, off the top of my head. Myu guess is that the terms are relatively, if not completely, favorable for the content provider if so many have already joined.I'd love to see the terms TMobile has for those services.
Risk free one month trial now. You will need o do a credit check, but pick a phone, pick a plan, and use it for up to a month. Dump it if you don't like it. This is what we did and utlimately decided it was worth switching.Anyone in the Buffalo NY area have TMo? thinking about doing the big switching
Part of that net profit is because new users are flocking to TMO constantly. At some point TMO will hit a wall, I would guess, and being in the black might not be a reality without change.Seeing as T-Mobile is making a net profit, while providing all of these benefits to their customers, while adding and expanding LTE coverage, and going to the FCC auction for even more coverage -- it's pretty safe to say ATT and VZW are egregiously charging their customers for service.
Is there a way to do this on ios devices without jailbreak? I am referring to directly on iOS devices. Not a download on PC and sync.Or, use one of the many YouTube downloader websites at no cost.
Just thought I would reply to this again. The link below will lead to a link to email TMO about getting your own service covered. Unfortunately there is no public data available, but for those who want to dig deeper, you may find answers there. I am sure someone somewhere will get this information public at some point if it's as easy as shooting an email to TMO.I'd love to see the terms TMobile has for those services.
You folks also have a much higher minimum wage than we do. Minimum wage, or mean wage, in a country is the best way to compare costs of products and services. The US, sadly, is at the bottom fo the barrel on minimum wage for first world countries. First world problems, or something like that. You can't really compare it that way.. Considering when the Canadian dollar wasn't doing as bad/the US dollar wasn't so high, the prices were still the same.. However if you want to do it that way.. For Unlimited Canada wide talk and text + 9 GB of data (BYOD) with rogers is $110 CAD ($83 USD) which for that much you can get unlimited with t-mobile for $80 USD. Not sure if ROGERS has spotify included with BYOD or if you have to sign a contract to get it, but it still also counts towards your bucket so if you go over you gotta pay those nice new data overages.. Which are what now? 5 bucks per 100mb?

Did they buy our your old carriers contract after you decided to stay?Risk free one month trial now. You will need o do a credit check, but pick a phone, pick a plan, and use it for up to a month. Dump it if you don't like it. This is what we did and utlimately decided it was worth switching.
you still got browsing, downloading etc/ Youtube is not included
They're watching T-Mobile and laughing because of what they have to do in order to get more customers. Verizon and AT&T have nothing to worry about and won't change anything because of this. It sucks but that's how it works when your one of the two largest, best networks in the US.
They did. But it's kind of a wash unless you want to get a new phone from them. They give you most of the money in the form of Bill credits. So you still have to pay out ofDid they buy our your old carriers contract after you decided to stay?
There are sites that can spit out video download links from a YouTube URL. Then use a file downloader app to download the video file. I think ProTube (from Cydia) can be sideloaded onto non-jailbroken devices. I'll try it today. Is there a way to do this on ios devices without jailbreak? I am referring to directly on iOS devices. Not a download on PC and sync.
While on one hand, I appreciate T-Mo trying to not count the biggest offender of mobile data usage... on the other, this sure is starting to sound like the Satellite/Cable TV packages. "And for only 5 bucks more a month, such-and-such different streaming service also doesn't count against your data usage."
Yuck.
But this can be done directly from an iOS device without a pic/Mac acting as a middle man? There are sites that can spit out video download links from a YouTube URL. I was aware of no sideloading. What I am looking for is a way to download youtube videos without a jailbreak. I realize I can do this on PC and then just sync videos. I was hoping there was a way to do this directly from the device. The part about YouTube downloader websites? Yeah. The part about sideloading apps? No.

I am interestng in loading videos for my son "semi on the fly". But if it takes jailbreaking, syncing with a PC (I already do this for trips), etc. it doesn't help me much.
Excellent. Thank you for the tips! I went ahead and used a website called video grabby as well as an app called turbodl. Worked great, the only caveat being that the files need to be played within the turbodl app. Are you aware of a way to move the files, or otherwise get them to be recognized, by the Preondtslled video app?As I said before, there are website that will spit out a direct download link for YouTube videos. Simply take that link, put it into a free file downloader app from the App Store, and you have your saved video file for offline playback.
