This is a very interesting comment because it can be interpreted in two ways.
"We" can be interpreted as being T-Mobile USA -- they are not going to get the iPhone 5 this year, but their competitors are.
"We" can be interpreted as the mobile phone industry! That means there will be no iPhone 5 released this year!
Someone needs to ask him to clarify.

Look, iPhone4 is freaking awesome. 4s + iOS 5 will make it even better. Not that big of a deal.
You're so right. Other than more pixels on the camers, and a little faster processor, what more could you want other than iOS 5 that would warrent a full bump to an iPhone 5?

the cheap plans are only for single lines. for family plans it's cheaper AT&T and Verizon
i pay $180 for a 4 line plan with 2 smartphones and 2 dumb phones. 4 line plan on t-mo is $279
a new effing design. the 4 is nice to look at, but it doesn't feel very good.
and for the effing billionth time, why would anybody buy a "4S" type of device when the 4 will run everything perfectly and be at least $100 cheaper?

Typically during normal business hours, Pacific Time, on a weekday. Basically when the Apple PR team would be in their Cupertino offices. Is there a special time of the day (morning, noon, evening, ...) at which apple normally sends out invitations for a media event?
The reason must be searched elsewhere. TM is not prepared to handle the already on going traffic for 3G, less with a couple of millions voracious iPhones more. They came late to 3G, and network development takes time to tune to provide the margin required to afford millions of iphoners insanely syncing with iCloud. It's a preventive, almost prophylactic move.
i was telling someone yesterday how i think this is a scam by apple and AT&T to drive t-mo's value down
at&t will pay a lower price if t-mo's value drops. and it will be easier to get the deal approved if subscribers flee and make sprint stronger.
apple wants 3 carriers instead of two. a stronger sprint is in apple's best interest.
if sprint and t-mo are gone with only verizon and at&t left then one of them can start to dictate pricing to apple. a stronger sprint means that consumers have more choice
I have been a T-mobile customer since 2003. That will change this October when the new iPhone comes out and I will be replacing a very old BlackBerry Pearl. Sorry T-mobile, I've waited long enough.![]()
T-Mobile does not operate only in the USA, so this will likely never happen.
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)
I bet this has to do with the (soon to be) failed AT&T merger. They didn't devote resources to adding the iPhone when they assumed they would be merged with AT&T, who will certainly get the iPhone 5. Now they're caught with their pants down and may be the only large carrier left in the US without the iPhone.
For me T-mobile's pricing paired with the iPhone is a perfect union. So either drop prices elsewhere or get the iPhone at T-mobile. This is not good news!
If T-mo got iPhone, it would save them.
Betcha.
Surely the very fact that this guy stated T-Mobile are not getting the iPhone 5 tends to confirm its existence, no?
